Why would someone vote for Donald Trump, even though 70 - 90% of all his statements are lies?

Fact Checking organizations, e.g. Politifact or FactCheck.org have found that between 70% to 90% of the statements made by Donald Trump are False, Mostly False, or True, But Misleading.  According to a June Truth-O-Meter rating, out of 158 Trump facts checked, he was Pants-on-Fire False or False 68% of the time; add in Mostly False and it raises to and amazing 78% and only 3% were rated True.  Comparable numbers for Clinton are 27% Pants-on-Fire False, 13% False, and 13%.True.

How do Trump supporters work around this terrible picture of a lack of veracity.

There you go again with numbers. How many statements are we talking about. When were they made, and what was the context. What was the impact on importance of these statements.

    90% of 10 statements is 9
    70% of 10 statements is 7
    Is your X 158
And what is your definition of a FACT as you are saying 158 facts were checked, and what was the total number of facts that is the real total of Trumps. What is the difference between statements and facts in your scenario.

Even though you gave percentages, they are meaningless, ambiguous and vague. They have no intrinsic meaning. There is no context, no facts, or anything other than %.

Your annotated question is your conclusion as it doesn't have the supporting information needed to evaluate it. You can't treat every statement with the same value of importance, or even that it constitutes a desire to be treated by Trump as a fact.

Your red herring factor just exceeded 100%.

Please reread background, u will find your answer there. I did omit one number & that is they analyzed 120 of Clinton's statements.  Since u don't have a basic understanding of statistics, I don't have space to educate you.  I told u where 2 look

Some are morons, some are ignorant, some are as despicable as Trump, others are just sheeple that would vote for any idiot their party chooses as candidate.

There are many in the basket, the rest are carrying it.

How about people don't want another 4 years, maybe 8 years of Obama.  How about people have not forgotten about Benghazi.  How about people are sick of Clinton lies!

Now there is a truth teller, thank you Linda for telling it like it really is. Trump may not be the best candidate for president but anyone who supports the world's worst candidate for President (HRC) has no grounds to criticize him, PERIOD

So, LindaSmith, it is more important to you not to continue the center-left policies of Obama and put in its place a man who demonstrably lies most of the time and doesn't know what he is doing in terms of politics and policy?

Should Americans repace a liar with another liar? Does this help? why not look past the two main candidates and vote for someone else?

How do you get around the fact that out of 158 flag raising statements, Trump lied or mostly lied in 78% & 19% were Pants-on-Fire lies.  Equivalent numbers 4 HRC are (out of 120 statements) 26% & 0.8%. While Trump was True 2.5% vs HRC's 13.3%

Her 500 million dollar pay to play scandal through the Clinton Foundation, meeting with people and giving them State Department approval for trade deals and removals from human rights watch lists after foreign governments and companies gave her millions ...

Her inability to use the words Islamic terrorism or Muslim and terrorist in a sentence together while Muslim terrorists are killing people from Indonesia to San Bernadino.

My Eso, IMO the only people who would vote for Trump are the ones who are so power hungry that they will stop at nothing to have the Republicans in control and those who are too young to remember what it was like under GWB.  Only this man is worse than any person who ever ran for the Presidency.
God help us if he wins.
