Is it Time to stop transferring power from your job, to your personna and how you rule your family?
Neuroscientists have now found that the "smallest the dose of power; can change a person, a situation. Someone gets a promotion at work and the "fame" goes to their head, making them forgetting about the people now "below" them.
Do you think if we stopped this transfer of power going to our heads and going instead to our hearts, we could make a step in dissolving class segragations in our society and even things up more?
Yes, I think it is very important to not get blown away or drifted away with the lows and highs in your profession that highly impact your personal and social life.
This is really a great question. Over the years I have noticed very low level people become gatekeepers of the most high -- "The Computer". The computer says we cannot do that. So NO! Receptionists are told to screen calls, and they take that to mean say no to people. It is totally a power trip gone totally awry. I walk in carrying a brief case and wearing a two thousand dollar suit. I have a meeting with the CEO. But come to find out that the bathrooms are not for the public. The gal upfront can say no to me using the bathroom -- wow what power. And yes she may get fired if I lay the hammer down.
I cannot count the executive that I have had the pleasure of dressing down or getting replaced because power went to their head and the came out the other side saying no to everything.
For me it was no big deal, I hopped the next flight and flew away. I got said no to by fortune 500 companies. I liked it. If we see our me as the job, we fail to see me as the human being. My family has always kicked my butt when I walk in my home. I have one roll in life. To be me.
Many fun folks like me that are Christian have this grandiose concept of telling others how to act. What a fools errand. That job is not mine.
Transference by external forces is like having an ego dependent on others. It is and always will be wrong. If we can see it we see our lives as much more than who we see ourselves to be. Things like love and compassion come from us, but more so they are the umbrella that we shield ourselves with from the elements of man.
I knew a hot shot once that I worked with. We dropped into forest fires as a first line of defense. When the fire was out he was depressed. The job defining us is dangerous.
Can we we be the same person as we are at home and as we are in our job? If so, could you elaborate. If no, could you also expand on that eric. Cheers:)
Cheers back at you. My wife walks in the door after work, it takes her about an hour to chill out and be mommy and wife. OTOH, look at me, trying to "become" a writer. Perhaps working from home is not so good as you cannot fully dive into either?
It should have never occurred in the first place; however this behavior is commonplace in humans. Many people identify themselves w/ their jobs/careers/ In essence, their jobs/careers are........THEM. They become empowered by their jobs/careers. Such jobs/careers give them a sense of BEING.
There are many instances of people in powerless jobs/careers who because of their lack of power on their jobs/careers, become quite authoritarian in dealing w/customers & their families. Since they don't have power over the people at work, they transfer their power to customers, family members & friends. This behavior really doesn't happen to those in powerful positions but they can freely exercise their power in their respective jobs/careers. In essence, they have their power manifestations at work so they have no need to exercise their power w/family & friends.
Everyone is influenced by power in one way or another. No one wants to be powerless. Everyone exercise power in one way or another. Everyone WANTS power-it make HIM/HER feel good. There isn't anyone who doesn't want .......POWER.

Do you think that dreams are way for the subconscious to communicate with the conscious.

I will be interested to see the reaction of our religious members to this breaking news. http://thaumaturgical.com/christian-wom … after-nde/A devout Christian woman turns atheist after spending 30 days in a coma. “I was promised butterflies and big pink fluffy clouds by my neuroscientists,”...
