   Does a born american need a license to drive in California under the 15th amement United States cons
   
   I read some place on line that there is case law backing this question up.

   In the U.S. having a drivers license is a "privilege" and not a "right". Every state is entitled to set it's own requirements for granting and revoking a drivers license.
   The 15th Amendment to the Constitution granted African American men the right to vote by declaring that the "right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
   This amendment has nothing to do with (driving).

   The Constitution has nothing to do with driving laws in California. If you want to drive in most states, you need a license to do so from that state. Go get a driver's license before you get behind the wheel!

      None of these individual cases have anything to do with the U.S. Constitution.
      If you don't believe it feel free to take the road without a license and see what happens if you're ever stopped. Some folks also believe we don't have to pay taxes!

      Did you not see the US supreme courts case law? That one can actually review through the supreme courts public record information.

      Ynotitsme, Getting a drivers license is not a big deal.
      Every state requires passing a written exam initially. It's not rocket science. Just take the test! or not if (you) think you don't need a license to drive.
