   With Election 2018 just over the horizon, will Congress ever get down to bipartisan working?

   This is a tough one Demas, thanks for getting me to look at it. I think we all just despise a do nothing Congress. And to my understanding they have more to undo than to do.
   So then with my libertarian part of me I am happy they are deadlocked and do nothing.
   Secondly my Constitution part of me loves the conflict. I am happy the way it is designed. All stuff gone over and over with open debate and open voting. If the swamp just agreed on stuff we would be in a world of hurt going either direction of right or left.
   Thirdly my frustrated side. The Democrats are basically doing as charged with by promises. The Republicans are not following through on the promises to their voters/constituents.
   In my view the congress is in deadlock not between Dems and Reps but just within the party - partisan.
   I will say this about my Congresswoman. She does what we vote her in for and has for over a decade.

      Oh for sure Demas. I didn't want the issue sidetracked to a single rep. Susan Davis. 53rd California. She is quite respected.
      But for me it is her tireless effort in our communities. Our schools are better for her as are our veterans.

   I don't believe this group we have in power right now will, Demas. I think it's just a sign of the times. I also think it may be a blessing, especially with all the extreme special interests that both parties are demanding. Gridlock is better than extreme special interests of either side. I wish they would get down to basics and run the country though. Neither party seems to be able to define what is Constitutional by using its own standards, and that's the rub.

   There is no historical basis that congress ever was bipartisan in running the country. And based on what we have seen since 2016, they are at their worst, and they don't seem to want to be better, which would be bipartisan.
   
   Mabye Bye Partisan.
   
   Since 2016, congress doesn't act like the election is over, and I doubt whether 2018 will have its election end either.

      basic prob with Congress is 2 party system. Both parties are 180 out from each other. That means there is no room to compromise. The fault lies with the loyal party voter that is why i suggest we all register ind. U dn pick the primary candidates
