If you had to choose...Would you rather have life in prison or would you prefer the death penalty?
Purely hypothetical question, but do you have the will to live in prison for the rest of your life or would you rather end it all by lethal injection?
That question is really hard to answer if you haven't really done anything. I don't plan on doing anything that would put me in a position to have to even think about that question.
Right. This question is purely hypothetical. If you had to choose, could you live in prison day after day?
Actually, if I knew there was no chance of getting out, I would rather die.
I hear you. Frankly, I don't know if I could handle it. I have serious doubts. Thanks for an honest answer, gregas.
I see things in life that are as bad as either. but to directly answer the question, If any one of us committed a crime of that nature, then its almost not our choice anymore.. its decided by judge or jury. throwing this at ya., what if it was going to happen and yet you were truly innocent of the crime? Would you want to live, hoping the truth was found, or would you be one to give up and want lethal injection? in either case all rights are taken away from ya so you really are in a mess.. I'd want to make things right with God for sure if it was lethal injection. at least then in his presence you would find favor and be innocent.
This question is difficult to answer, no doubt. Is it really out of our hands? Not entirely.
Death penalty. Even if innocent, to be jailed while filing appeal after appeal would be torture.
Diane, I tend to agree. Yet, convicted criminals seem to be relieved to get "life." Perhaps those us who are law abiding citizens simply cannot imagine living in the hell that prison represents to us. Appreciate your answer.
In the back of our minds, that is probably one of the things that keep us from committing crimes.
Greg, I wish the crooks would think about it. You are welcome Savvy! I often see where people are found innocent after being in jail 20-40 years. DNA and the Innocence Project get them released; however, some people still consider them guilty and
If someone isn't guilty, they shouldn't have to pay. Those who want to condemn them have pretty much condemned themselves.
That's just it Diane, they don't care and don't THINK period.
I would hate a painful death like problems finding a vein. I can't remember name of guy that they went into his groin area. The needle slipped & fluid didn't get in his veins. It was painful; however, he deserved it. He was guilty.
At my age, it wouldn't be much different that going to a retirement home a bit early I'd imagine.
Kidding aside, it really wouldn't matter much, I don't believe I would survive too long amongst the general population of a prison if it were hard core.
Unless it was a soft, cushy prison with tv, one man cells, access to a library, good food, maybe get a law degree while I'm in there so I can properly defend myself on appeal, if that were the case I'm sure I'd find it relaxing if not enjoyable.
Lol. I remember something someone said to Martha Stewart..."You're going to love it here" (Speaking of white collar prison.) and sure enough, she wasn't the worst for wear after spending "time."
In a nursing home, they would bath you. In prison, you have to worry about dropping the soap.
In some prisons that is true Diane, that is why I noted it depends on what type of prison it is I would be sent to.

“Who Are You?” Often we heard people asked. They want you to tell them who you really are. This is really simple question, is it? Or is it not?Have you ever noticed how people can come up with different answer for that simple question? And sometimes they also come up with more than one answers.“I...
