Who is paying these alleged sex victims to come out two or three decades later?
Certainly, there was much incentive and opportunity for these alleged victims to come out during this century and especially during the last presidential election campaign. So, it appears that we are missing something here.
The bigger issue is why people don't care to give any politicians the presumption of innocence. An allegation is about the same as hearsay, or someone's opinion. An unsubstantiated allegation is little more than sabre rattling.
Why is this not considered Election Influencing? Most of the voters will believe anything they hear&see on TV. That is why it is an influence
Plenty of people presume their innocence. That’s why Trump was still elected and why Moore very narrowly lost. The same people who are convinced that Bill Clinton is guilty of the accusations made against him, I’m sure.
An allegation is serious and not an “opinion.” If it’s shown that allegations were false they could be charged with a crime. Are you this quick to dismiss all sexual assault accusations or is it because of the timing of the ones coming out against certain politicians?
we are talking about the innocence of the accused and not the accuser. Sexual assaults over 3 decades ago, yes I am suspicious. If these were real assaults, then they should directly for the criminal arrest and not have the media be the court.
There’s a long history of women not being believed or being blamed when they come forward. Add a powerful, older, well-known man into the equation and I imagine it’s terrifying. Especially in the case of Moore where they were only minors.
34 years, and I question why now. He has been in politics most of that time. An allegation like an arrest is an Opinion. That is why we have a judicial system where the court and a jury decides the verdict of guilty or not guilty on the evidence. Thx
If it was not during this election, it would have happened during a different election. There is always an excuse to downplay sexual harassment and rape when powerful men are accused.
I've seen lot's of #MeToo's on my facebook from my friends and it's great that finally the elephant in the room is named.
Why now you ask. There can be many reasons. Fear is one, shame another. Fear for losing your job as the accused is your boss. Harassment and rape are deep emotional and traumatic events with scars that run deep. Why now you ask? Because sometimes it takes time to speak up. And it's an incredible brave and good thing women stand up against the men who attacked them.
Let the judge decided if the accused is guilty or innocent and not the alpha male run media.

Does that explain decades later and after the presidential campaign is over, these sexual allegations come out? It looks like the objective is to gain political advantage. So, someone must be paying them to come out with these long overdue all
If it was not this campaign, it would be another campaign. There is always a campaign going on. When you state that an allegation towards a politician is political you can never accuse a politician. This is not a reason not to accuse a person.

For ex. Moore has been in politics for more than 30 yrs. My point is that we have a legal process and it is not just blurting out allegations to the media. If it is really a crime then prosecute to dispel the presumption of innocence.
I understand your point Brad, but I'm cynical about court. Most of the times the richest side wins. But I believe that in a case of sexual harassment most of the time it's not a made up story. There are to many power abusers. at school, work and pol

Yes, the legal system favors the rich. But, people like Gloria Allred are more than eager to champion these causes and she is powerful enough to even or better the fight.
My pt is that making these belated claims looks political not moral.
I am intrigued by this point raised by you. Some allegations coming out after 30 or 40 years, really, should not be given any credence. Why did they keep quiet for all these decades. Its about time something was done about such old allegations. Maybe just dismiss them, but then they would have served their political purpose. There appears to be a dead end.

My point is that these are just allegations, and they shouldn't pierce the presumption of innocence. The media hypes the allegations, but we have a legal process, and allegations without preferring criminals charges are just opinions.

*Public Domain*is it true and should cowardly complicit republicans agree to investigate the claims to find out? Of course they should but they probably won't, just like they've refused to live up to their oaths of office: In a normal, functioning American society which we are unfortunately light...

Did the Senate Judiciary Committee know about the allegations all along? Were they buried in the reports Democrats continued to ask for? Will this be 3 more mulligans?

So, Brett Kavanaugh has been accused of a sexual assault and the accuser has come forward. I'm pretty sure no conservative in these forums would even consider dismissing his nomination, but let's try and have a serious discussion about the allegation.1. Do you believe the accuser? She's come...
