What is the best action/thriller movie of all time?

I haven't seen a good movie in years! It seems like the quality of movies has gotten worse lately , no plot just special effects.

John wick parts 1-3. Very good action film. It does not use cheap cg graphics. The action scenes are a must to watch.

You r right about the new movies..I myself very loyal to 90's movies so you can say that my favorite movie of this Category 'd be The Peace Maker (G.clooney, N.Kidman).

Yeah, this is true. It seems hollywood is remaking movies and no original ideas. Their are good movies today, but not like some of those old original movies.

I happen to love the Pelican Brief....and my favorite aspect of this movie is that is it totally believable!  Julia Roberts is scared to the point of not being able to speak.  Her best work ( in my opinion ).

As far as action and suspense, I would go with the second installment of the Alien franchise, Aliens.
More recently, I love the movie Signs. Very edge of your seat.

Everyone's gonna have a different one. Salt, which came out last year with Angelina Jolie as a double agent was terrific.  Kept you on the edge of your seat almost every single second of the picture.

Blood Diamond and The Last Samurai are two good semi-modern action films that I like.

My choice would be Matrix. It's simply mind blowing.

    Jaws.

Looks a bit dated, with rather creaky sfx. But perhaps that's why I like it so much in that there's no silly CGI to take the real power and magic away from this timeless classic.

The original "Die Hard" (1988) is defnitely one of the greats.

I'd also suggest the original "RoboCop" (1987)

To be honest? The legit action thriller that hits home with me would be Steven Segal's Above The Law. Secondary to Hard To Kill. Third place Mark for Death.
