Nancy disinvites Donnie to the House

Donnie seemed a bit morose today when Nancy Pelosi made sure he knew he would not be addressing the nation for the annual State of the Union address. After his petty act of telling the world of Nancy's impending visit to the troops and thereby spoiling her previously secret trip, Trump acted as if he was still invited to the annual event and looking forward to further tout his wall.

Nancy sent a letter saying it would not be a good time to deliver the message while the government was shut down and people were suffering because of the stalemate. Do you blame her, or applaud her for it?

I blame her. Trump wants a steel barrier which he refers to as a wall. It's actually see-through, however. So, yes, it is a very strong steel fence.
Whats wrong with it? I want Nancy to tell me whats wrong with Trump's plan. She's actually for border security, as well. What type of border does SHE and Chuck envision?

    ?

Better security at the legal entry points as only one out of five vehicles are checked. Also, as 90% of the drugs also enter through these same legal entry points, and there are already barriers or walls in place at the most active crossing points, spending 5.7 billion on areas--which to date haven't even been selected--is a total waste of money.

we need to to "shore up" both the legal points of entry AND the holes in the border.

        WHY NOT?
we have the money. The money is not a problem.

I'd wager a pretty penny you have no idea where "the holes" are, do you? Any part of a wall is a hole if you have a ladder or are able to dig a tunnel.

And there's been money for barriers for a while now. Build an ivory tower with it, just don't make up unnecessary walls as an excuse.

I'm afraid I see Nancy's disinvitation as political grandstanding that may work, or may backfire. Because, neither side understands or cares about the ramifications their actions may have on any individual. It's all 'look at me, look at me'. And, those who applaud either side in this ridiculous drama are playing into their hands.

And if Donne gets his way, he'll shut down the govt every time he isn't given in to.  Like the adolescent he is....

Of course. I forgot your mantra. 'It's Donny's fault.'

Oh Randy. We couldn't agree. Even when I have agreed with you in the past you find reason to turn it into a disagreement.

I don't agree on this simply because to do it,again, would play into the democrat's hands. I haven't seen him make that mistake, thus far.

Ha! He did just that when he said he'd own the shutdown during the Pelosi/Schumer meeting. Or did you miss it?

Ah. You missed the subtle nature of that. Yes. He owned the shutdown. The democrats are reasonable for it not reopening.

Nancy is exposing the great deal maker for the loser he is.  Oh, wait, most of us already knew that.

But, seriously, I don't applaud playing games, but giving in to the giant toddler in the White House would be a grave mistake.  This is not a game.  Nancy, the adult in the room, is holding the line against future toddler meltdowns.

Great. So the hope of our nation lies either in the hands of a giant toddler or a woman with dementia.

Somehow, I don't feel better. I hope there's no sequel in the works.

        Really?  Dementia?

        [oh, the irony]

I thought you didn't frequent right-wing rags, but here you are parroting them.

LOL. Really? You call one person a toddler, I call another someone with dementia and, somehow, that is my bad. I'd type an eye roll but my eyes are rolling so hard right now I can't see to do it.

One is a correct assessment of temperament and the other is an invention of right-wing rags.  My opinion, of course.  You're entitled to yours, but I think we're starting to see whose judgment about this president has been more accurate from the beginning.

Oh well. Thousands of clips of a politician who can't think of simple words to complete sentences and presents as impaired isn't evidence enough, but yours is somehow a 'fair' assessment.

Keep deluding yourself. We've grown accustomed.

                But...

"I think it is important to take into account the reasons people easily buy into such speculation." "Oh. I was not aware you were a medical professional. My bad."

                No more?
Oh, wait. That's what I thought.

I usually attempt to avoid dialogue with those who appear, through my observation, to have a party ring in their nose which gives the impression of a lack of ability to generate an independent thought but since you appear to insist on a response, hear goes.
