Hi guys. Im a writer over at Listverse. There was an announcement on the site today - more like asking for reader feedback- but the point is this.
The site owner mentioned that large sites are closing down "due to loss of ad revenue. " Apparently there's been changes to the online advertising market making it hard to "maintain high traffic sites from advertising revenue alone. "
I just need to know from the more revenue savvy hubbers if these changes (I don't even know what they are) will negatively impact the Hubpages earning program?
Thanks.
From what I've seen, both HP and AdSense are doing an excellent job as to garnering ad revenue. The only problem is Google's neverending machinations when it comes to indexing. The one internet constant is change.
Advertising revenues at this site appear to be going up since the purchase by the Maven group. Besides HP, they have a lot of other sites that are supported only by advertising revenue.
Adblockers are a problem so it is possible that the number of your impressions will tend to go down, even if you have more page views. The only thing you can do about that is write more successful articles so that you will have more page views.
"The only thing you can do about that is write more successful articles so that you will have more page views."
Darned difficult, that.
These days I just write whatever comes to mind and throw it against the proverbial wall. Some stick. Some don't.
The whole online content world has faced diminishing returns for some time now. Hubpages stands out as being one of the most successful in reinventing and finding new strategies to stay profitable.
Same here. In fact, that's been my modus operandi all along

I have been pleased with the audience and revenue for my articles on HubPages since joining the site some years ago.I commend the company for creating the successful niche sites at a time when similar sites were folding. My existing articles that moved to those sites have done even better than...

Hopefully someone from Hubpages HQ can look into this.I believe that those of us that are using a hosted account with Adsense are not getting any ad revenue on impressions from the niche sites.I base this on the fact that my daily impressions on Hubpages vs Adsense differ by a factor of about 100....

My earnings are currently running at about 50% of what they were at this time last year. Right now, it feels like every time the site seems to have bottomed out, things then sink even lower.Admittedly, the first five months 0f 2021 were particularly good for me, by historical standards, so it's...

I have been thinking of leaving HubPages for a while now because of several reasons. With their latest ebay/amazon update I now have to reformat over 90 hubs (Some had not been published yet and I was waiting for Halloween). Rather than doing this I will use my time looking for a site and...
