New polls show black support for Trump surging

There is not just one poll that shows this happening.  There are several.

“The new Emerson poll puts Trump at 35 percent with black voters and 38 percent with Hispanics. “If you add in Asian voters at 28 percent approval,” notes Emerson’s director of polling Spencer Kimball, “our number is very close to the new Marist poll,” which finds Trump’s approval at 33 percent among non-white voters.  A recent RasmussenReports poll has Trump support among black voters at 34 percent, and even the new CNN poll has Trump’s approval among non-white voters at 26 percent.
Why is losing black voters by a two-to-one margin something to shout about? Because if Donald Trump came anywhere close to those numbers on Election Day, he’d likely win a 50-state sweep. Minority voters — and black voters in particular — are an absolutely vital part of the Democratic base. And they don’t vote for Republicans, particularly for president.”

The president has been working to make positive changes in all American's lives. He does not pander, he see us all as Americans. It is wonderful that more black Americans are taking note of Trump's job performance, and perhaps realizing the previous politicians have not had their best interests.

Because the wealthy have means to re-elect or elect them. Castle. It's a vicious circle, and now one of the vultures is running the country and acting like a dictator. Some apparently like dictators....

Have you seen the latest jobs report number? The unemployment rate?

Greed may be driving your argument.

I suppose you believe also the US economy is the best it has been in American history.

Oh, pleaseeee great doG in the sky. Please send me back to the 70s, where most people were middle class.

Isn't that the definition of "middle class"?  The center 3/5'ths or some such?

Your doG in the sky is as much a fabrication of your own imagination as is your belief the economy isn't doing well.

Or...didn't you say you were in Canada? I saw their jobs report. That wasn't a pretty sight. Perhaps your complaints are driven by jealousy?

Having Justin "Black Face" Trudeau as their Prime Minister isn't working out too well for the economy of our neighbors to the north.

Saw a report yesterday that job creation was strong (266,000 as I recall) for November.  Spending was up as well, in spite of the trade war.

Not signs of a failing economy.

I voted for Trudeau's, only because I knew he was involved with my circle group of legalizing marijuana that was unlawful for 95 years.

Trump employment rates are very fictional. US Economy growth is the same as Canada with 60 third world countries doubling our GDP. US social system sucks. Trump cutting immigration in half, a huge mistake. Trump driven national debt to a record high at a faster rate than Obama.

If US job rate is so great, why is record number of US citizens applied for asylum in Canada. It can't be they love our cold winters.

The only reason to seek asylum is if the law is after them.  Is that your claim - that masses of American criminals are running to Canada to avoid the law (or religious/political persecution)?

My daughter in law is black. I was discussing this with her. The general feeling she expressed was the democrats have offered empty promises for years and now that there is another prominent minority they have turned their empty promises in another direction, basically abandoning the black voter with anything other than token lip service.

I believe having record-setting low unemployment for minorities also plays into the support for President Donald Trump.

Live to Learnposted 4 years agoin reply to this

Definitely. Verifiable and measurable results which are helping that demographic would certainly be the main impetus. But, historical, behavior by the democrats which never created a measurable benefit makes it easier to see the benefits of supporting a different way of thinking.

Being from a demographic well aware of empty promises helps them see the unworkable nature of current socialist promises.

But there has been a measurable benefit, for years now.

At least if you consider the tightening of the chains binding them to charity as a benefit - some do.

We will see how these "newstats" flesh out in the next election cycle, the proof will be in the pudding as always.

As an AA voter, I say "rubbish. Trump, this so called new kind of Republican, will upend a consistent trend over 3/4 of a century regarding the GOP getting any more than token Black support? They certainly have not earned it and as you will see, it won't come to fruition.

Just trotting out one minority or another to say that the moon is made of green cheese will not make your case any more credible.

I absolutely loathe the political right and its lemmings and for good reason.

After all, You rightwinger types have  certainly reminded me about the reliability of the polling process, just look how this cretin of man was elected President in spite of the polls all indicating otherwise. So, I would not be as confident in this instance.

I agree.  We will see.  A poll from Rasmussen having President Donald Trump with increased support from minorities might not get any attention.  Having more than one poll and one from CNN showing did get my attention.

So, have you heard of something called Blexit?  I didn't know about it until a friend told me.  Here is their website

      https://blexit.com/

Their spokesperson is Candace Owens.  I don't know if you've ever heard her speak but she is a very intelligent and articulate speaker.  She has testified before Congress and many other places.  Candace Owens is impressive.

Here is a story about her and Blexit in the Washington Post.

Happy holidays, Mike, for a Rightwinger, your OK in my book.

Yes, I have heard Candice and conservatives make sure that she is front in center in this debate over the voting loyalties of the Black electorate.

I tend not to be conservative in the vast majority of my views. But on the other hand the GOP had spokespeople like Condelezza Rice and Colin Powell, what happened to them?

We had always had a conservative voice or two within the chorus, i.e. Thomas Sowell, but they yet to attract any meaningful Black supporters.

If the polling information is correct and that would be my observation if Trump can get more than 15 percent of Black vote, let alone 30 percent, I will do a double take.

But, Castlepaloma is right, the affinity of white supremist and racist groups in favor of the Trump candidacy has to make me concerned about being anywhere near their tent, let alone inside of It. I am naturally going to be repelled to anything that is attracting them.

          Happy Holidays !

I agree it would be incredible if President Donald Trump received 30 percent of the black vote. The Republican who got the largest percentage of black votes was Richard Nixon in 1968.  He got 35 percent.

If President Donald Trump gets between 20 - 25 percent of the black votes, it is game, set, match.

I don't think it's fair to blame the Republican Party for who follows them.  The Democrats are supported by the Muslim Brotherhood, La Raza, CAIR and others.

Because we continue to have a common background and experience.

Most of the older black folks go for Biden only because they feel that he is more palatable to whites and want Trump out at any cost. You can pick up a lot at barber shops, baptist churches and all of that. There, politics are discussed in a sense of comraderie not available to those on the outside. Subscribing to Ebony and Essence magazines allows me to get a feel of what's happening in the AA community outside my immediate area. How can whites have a comparative finger on the pulse in this way?

It is young people, the post Civil Rights crowd,  that have no connection with experiences of older people, who, if anyone, will break ranks and support GOP candidates or like me, want to go for the "full Monty", rather that the "half a loaf" we have been accepting, "good whites folks vs bad ones". I want to dispense with that entire concept and go directly for what I want to see.

What ever minority flag Trump waves during his election, they won't be fooled the second time as much.

I still don't under estimate all the white Christians Hics, Hillbillies and Rednecks in the US, who will double down and vote him. The most dominant of 80% voters is in the KKK group, who will be most pleased.
