      Are introvercy and extrovercy actual words?
      
      
      I'm introverted, usually.
      I was painfully shy as a child/teenager.
      It can be a real handicap.
      
      Still that way at times.
      But sometimes, especially when it comes to serious issues, I've learned to be a lot more extroverted.  I'm half a century old;  I finally realized my thoughts/opinions/beliefs/ are as valid as anyone else's; figured it was about time I made myself heard.

         I think it's introversion and extroversion, actually.
         
         I wrote a Hub about being an introvert.  The definition isn't as straightforward as you might think!  Years ago, my sister was doing psych at university and put me through a battery of tests - seems I'm an extroverted introvert.  Or was it an introverted extrovert?

    Nobody is either introvert or extrovert. That's too simple a definition.
    
    Even the most introvert of personalities will occasionally step over the dividing line and become extrovert. The reverse is also true for extroverts. Personalities fall along a spectrum with introversion and extroversion at opposite ends.
    
    But most here will have personalities that veer towards introversion. That is obvious.

    I am now, and always have been, 100% extrovert.
    
    There isn't a human being that knows me who could come up with any evidence stating otherwise.

       There will be plenty of times in your life when your personality will have tip toed towards introversion... for you not to know that, indicates you don't know yourself too well.

    I lived in one state for 20 years and I was an introvert.
    
    I moved to another state became an extrovert...different life styles. So it's possible.

       There are loads of psychological tests on personality.
       
       But even if you find that your personality type is 'extrovert' it's still meaningless. Because you will never be 'extrovert' at all times, in all situations in your life. Even the most extrovert of personalities will experience self doubt and retreat into a more introverted state when they are faced with certain challenges.

          But then it should work the other way round too - you can not be introvert at all times, right?
          Still there should be one of those that prevails. Or not?

             You're catching on fast. Perhaps there is hope for you afterall. 
             
             Even an introverted personality will have moments when they let their hair down and dance with the extroverts. It's just that those moments will not have the same frequency as those with an extrovert personality type.  The key here, is understanding which personality state you are in most of the time - extroverted or introverted?
