    Anyone else have this problem?

Si, querida, translated it means (summarised) "your Hub is written in Spanish which isn't allowed, please translate it into English"

but I'm not understanding why Darkside posted it...

      LOL.

He managed to escape today. Though he may be disappointed when he finds himself in Tasmania.

I just tried publishing a hub about ASCII Art. Because there's a lot of... ASCII Art (keyboard characters) the hub system recognises it as not being English. So it thinks it's a foreign language. That's the message it shows when you try and publish.

Here's the English translation they also provide:

This hub does not appear to be written in English, and therefore cannot be published. If you believe that you have received this message in error, please save your hub by clicking on the save unpublished button. Then email us at team@hubpages.com, and be sure to include the title of this hub in your email.

I shall have to wait to hear back from HP HQ.

HP HQ manually removed the flag and manually published it for me. When they do that it doesn't however show up in ones hubtivity as being published.

I know a little Russian. He's not a nice person. "Don'tSpitOnYa" he always says as he leaves.

My German friend always says "OurFeetertheSame!" as he leaves.

      Messed up, I say.

Caliente, in Spain, refers to feeling hot in a sexual context. Always safer to say 'calor'.
Mexican Spanish is quite possibly different. They have different swear words, I know that for sure:)

I wrote a paragraph of turkey-latin in one of my hubs, and apparently made it through the cyber-Borg-Transliteration Device they have her at HP. I was surprised.

I think it would depend on how much of the textual content is non-English.

My latest hub is 99% non-English. But it's not any other language either. It's ASCII Art.

Perhaps the implication here is that Hub Pages is a pain in the ASCII.

Hey, Darkside, would the "code" capsule work here or is the filter going to tag it as non-english either way?

    1. darkside profile image62
darksideposted 14 years agoin reply to this

While I think the Code Capsule would be exempt, it have made a mess of the ASCII art.
