What happen to the separation of church and state?

   It all seem to be one piece of cloth.The church is
   just as pagan in image as the world is.
   The world should be following the church,not the
   other wat around.

         That's when you seperate the sheep from the shepard. I've been kicked out of half the churches in my City (And I live in a fair sized city, 1.2 million people) it doesn't mean I don't love Jesus

      You cannot govern an entire nation based on a premise the entire nation does not accept.  That is why secularization is so important.  Church run states oppress people, in a secular society the practice of religion is protected, but remains a personal experience, and is not forced down the throats of those who do not believe.  And that is how it should be.
      
      The right to believe, and the right to not believe should be equally protected.

      Yep, that was added in 1957, in a climate of anti-communist paranoia, as propaganda to further differentiate the officially secular USA from the officially atheist USSR.
      
      The motto that the founders chose is this: E Pluribus Unum.
      
      It surprises me that the folks (not necessarily you, luv'; I don't know what your politics might be) who are all about "what the founders intended" so often overlook the words that the founders intended to be the motto of the USA.

   remember when Jesus took a coin and said give on to Cesear what is Cesear's and unto God what is God's. This sounds like keeping state and Christ separate. If the state would really stay out of the church it would be okay. This would mean not telling us what we can preach.

   Say when was the last time a major North American Politician wasn't a churchgoer? I think one of the prerequisites for candidacy in America is "Being vocal about Christianity." Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr., et al all were very vocal about God.
   
   Canada it's less so (In fact the more vocal you are, the less likel;y you'll get elected) but enough is known about our candidates that the public knows that a certain candidate goes to church, and it's the churchgoers who get elected. Martin and Chretian were both Roman Catholic. I think Harper is Anglican, but I'm not sure.
