I made 2 hubs this week. I don't see any adsense ads though. Is this normal?

AdSense terms of service do not allow running ads on "Gambling or casino-related content".

Although I can see 2 Hubs published by Kaibraine here, when I go to profile it shows 0 hubs!

Does this mean we aren't allowed to make hubs about "poker", a skill game? Why was I able to publish in the first place? I feel a bit sick, Google have no problem with me paying them for clicks for "gambling-related or casino-related content" in adwords but I can't write about in on a site that displays adsense ads!

It tells you when you are creating a hub explicitly that gambling hubs are not allowed.

If you feel like your content meets the adsense program policy conditions, you can request an interpretation from google.  But, my understanding is that "Gambling or casino-related content" includes poker content and is generally interpreted fairly broadly.

The reason you were allowed to publish a few days ago and are not today is that you happened to catch us on the cusp of a policy change.  We now require that all published hubs meet the AdSense terms, and that all commercial hubs have ads turned on.  You can turn ads off on non-commercial content (but it still must meet the AdSense Program Policy conditions).

Why is meeting Adsense conditions necessary on a hub with no AdSense?

We ran into issues where having certain types of content prevented us from some advertising opportunities.  If all content meets the AdSense ToS then we are safe, even if ads are not displayed on a particular Hub.

Marcy- so sorry about the video troubles!

Melovy, thanks so much for helping Marcy out.

I don't quite know what's going on with those videos, but I'm trying to get to the bottom of it. I just tested it out in both Chrome and Firefox and everything seems to be working fine from my end, but Marcy, you could have some browser-specific settings that are causing the videos not to play. I'm not sure.

Yes, either delete or update them so that they conform with the AdSense TOS.

Have you been clicking on your own ads?  You're liable to be banned permanently from AdSense soon, if you haven't been already.  I'd suggest reading the AdSense Program Policies carefully.

Adsense states that you are not for any reason to click your own ads. It's killing me because the ads are targeted now to my own traffic lol

You also aren't allowed to ask other people to click on your ads. Listen to Paul, he knows what he's talking about. He's the GM around here wink

By the way, you *are* splitting your ad impressions with hub pages (60/40), so the clicks you're looking for might be going to Hubpages instead.

I know what you mean.  On my hubs I have seen several advertisments for jobs in the renewable energy industry - and at the moment I am actually in the process of applying to such companies!

Isn't that the truth!  I have had to search for other like pages occationaly, in order to find the ad I want to see.  Sometimes I have even googled the ad (they come up on a million blogs)!

Not on the ones I want to click! LOL!

I know they do on some, but the interesting ones never have urls!

In truth, I agree with Nelle. I just wish the toolbar came for FireFox!

For those of you who need to see the destination site of your ads, this is how you do it.  And I'm quoting directly from google.

What is the Google AdSense preview tool?
The Google AdSense preview tool is an addition to the right-click menu for Windows Internet Explorer 6.x, allowing you to preview the ads that may show on any webpage. With just a few clicks, you can see what ads may appear on your new webpages, or make an educated decision on whether to add AdSense to your existing site pages.

    Other features include:

Check the destination of ads that are on your page : ads displayed in the preview tool are in a test state, so you don't have to worry about accidentally clicking on an ad. Clicks and impressions are not counted against the ads that display within the preview tool.

    Mark,

On some they do and some they don't. I really wish they wouldn't at all. Don't want folks typing in the url and not clicking!

They don't? I thought they had to do that.

Hmmm - now I am checking and it seems they don't all the time.

    My mistake.

No problem Mark. Two weeks ago I would have made the same mistake. I wonder if it's changed recently.
