What PS3 RPG game do you own?
We all know that new RPG games for PS3 are getting released from time to time but only few of them stay on the limelight. Now the PS3 is a not-so-cheap gaming console, so if you're into RPG games, you might as well play the best RPG games! Here I've listed 10 of the best RPG games for PS3 and ranked accordingly. The ones listed here are based on reviews and being bestsellers on the RPG game genre to make it easier for you to choose.
This page will be updated every month to summarize the best PS3 RPG games for that month.
Top 10: Fallout 3
Date released: October 28, 2008
Fallout 3 is an overwhelmingly enthralling RPG game for PS3 that contains ambiguity that is both sinister and full of meaning. The game play itself makes up for its limited fight options and visual imperfections.
Independence makes this game stand where it is right now. No time and object constraints when it comes to checking out whatever you would want to check out. The missions can be incredibly complex and can be completed in different ways.
Top 9: 3D Dot Game Heroes
Date released: May 11, 2010
Pixelized and wait...what? Zelda-like game? Not really but yes really. Almost all reviews point this game to have so much similarity with Legends of Zelda. But it is still fun in its own way. Would you really care if it is a Zelda rip-off? You will have the same amount of fun you had in a different way but still get to play as an adventurer tasked to defeat evil.
Nostalgic and fun at the same time. The graphics, the storyline and everything else brings you back to the good old times of the first consoles.
Top 8: Dragon Age: Origins
Date released: November 3, 2009
Bioware seems to have been on a roll in getting their RPG releases onto the top 10 list. Working hard as they could, the game developers seem to be obsessed in making good experiences for players who wants to get into a life full of adventure and plays a hero for all individuals in need of help (though only on video games that is) so this title, Dragon Age: Origins makes it to the list. Now this game is no ordinary one. It can eat gazillions of hours of your life. Is it addicting? Yes. Complex? Well, yes. Which is another reason why it would take some time playing this game, this one right here is not just like the other RPG, it's actually a bit complicated. Though the plot is somewhat repetitive, you would never get tired of dealing with the Darkspawn creatures.
Like Skyrim, this game could be the type of game that you would go back to and check out after a long time of not playing it. It's a great game with great gameplay but more often than not, the events are easily predictable.
Top 7: Eternal Sonata
Date released: October 21, 2008
Eternal Sonata is dazzling by itself either by playing this game or even just looking at it. It is indeed a fascinating RPG game. Though the game has a diminutive amount of traveling around and the quests are not so challenging.
This game was also released to other gaming consoles but it looks way much better on PS3. The game's pleasant chronicle is inhabited by an engaging set of characters that matches the beautiful soundtrack.
Top 6: Final Fantasy XIII
Date released: March 9, 2010
When you say RPG game, Final Fantasy will always be mentioned. This Final Fantasy game may be lacking but still considered to be an extraordinary legend.
The game has a set of varied yet brilliant characters in a beautiful imaginative world that is brought to life by a gripping tale. The entertaining yet challenging combat will surely keep you challenged.

Top 5: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Date released: February 7, 2012
One of the best RPG games for PS3 released in the year 2012. This game is certainly a must play. The story line itself is written by one of the best game authors alive. Though this is not a good game start for newbies, hardcore gamers will certainly enjoy its complexity. The environment graphics blend in very well with the character graphics. The voice acting is awesome too. Oh and the gameplay? Pleasurable.
Though you may find the character lip syncing to be actually out of sync, it is not enough reason for this game to be a non-playable game.
Top 4: Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Date released: March 20, 2007
Definitely a wonderful RPG game that should never be missed by a PS3 owner, which is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. What seems to be the only flaw of this game? The faintly irritating presentation matter.
The game has a very big and dazzling world to explore mixed with an appealing tale and a whole day's worth of fun side quests. Excellent music? Check! Excellent voice acting? Check!
Top 3: Demon's Souls
Date released: October 6, 2009
This ground-breaking RPG game did not make it as one of the year's finest games for no reason at all. Despite of being exceedingly complex and harshly tough, the game is still outright interesting.
The game has astounding and matchless online features with mysterious and attractive levels that devour your full attention. Computer graphics are close to perfect mixed with systematic fighting strategies.
Top 2: Mass Effect 3
Date released: March 6, 2012
Need I say more? Really? You still want to know why this ended up on the top list? Well anyway, Commander Shepard really satisfied a lot of gamers out there. He's got a greater challenge ahead compared to fighting the Collectors from Mass Effect 2. Now you would not be fighting just for the Earthlings but also for the whole galactic race.
If you have played Mass Effect 2 and have been awed, wait till you experience Mass Effect 3. It was able to surpass its prequel.
Top 1: The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Date released: November 14, 2011
This game, despite its numerous bugs, is PERFECT. The most awesome RPG one could ever play. There is just so much to do here. This is the type of game that will make you want to skip class or work or even a potential date! The menu system is just elegant, the graphics are just so detailed you will never get bored exploring, the sound effects makes everything feel like its real and even if you have finished the game, you would still want to come back.
Even non-FPS players played this and loved it. So despite of its bug-filled system, people still clamor to play this game.
