How to Play the Getaway Chase Game by DX Sunray Oil Co.

The object of the DX Getaway Chase Game ... If you are the Police your object is to advance first to Police Chef. If you are the Gangster your object is to advance first to Public Enemy number One. The Rules for two players. First thing one player becomes "Police" and one player becomes "Gangster." 2. Then if you are going to be the "Police" then the Police Car and the Switch Console with Police Markings are yours. 3. If you are the "Gangster," then the Getaway Car and the Switch Console with Gangster Markings are yours.

Switches ... Test your switches. Each player has two buttons to push. You control one witch on your side of the board and one switch on the opposite side of the board. You can control your opponent's car as well as your own if you think fast enough. Become familiar with each button and the switch it controls.

Scoring Pegs ... The silver pegs are used to keep score. Place one scoring peg in the first hole or "starting Position" of the Switch Console. Police start at "Rookie" and Gangsters start at "Petty Thief."

On your mark ... get set ... go! The "Getaway Chase Game" begins in fort of the Police Station {Building number 11 on the City Side} or at the 2 arrows on City Side of the Board. Stat your Police Car on the inside roadway closest to the Police Station. Start the Getaway Car at the opposite end of the board on the inside roadway between the 2 arrow near Country Gas Station {Building number 22}. Start both cars together. Let's go ... its Getaway.

Keeping Score for Tow Players with the Getaway Chase Game

Keeping score for two players is easy with the Getaway Chase Game. In your package you have a color die-cut sheet containing 20 police and Gangster "Justice" cards. You would punch them out of the sheet and tack them for use in some of the following games.

Here are three games version of the Getaway ...

1. Small Town Police and Gangster Game: if you are the police every time you drive by the Police Station advance peg one hole. Next every time your car goes off the road move peg back one hole. and third Every time your police car is behind the Getaway Car and you hit it from behind ... advance peg one hole.You win if you become Police Chief first.

Gangsters: ... Every time your drive by the Police Station advance peg one hole. Every time your cars goes off the road move get back one hole. and Every time you get your getaway Car behind the police car and you hit it from behind ... advance peg one hole. You win if you become Public Enemy Number One first.

DX Board game, Playing the Big City Police & Gangsters Game

In the big city police and gangster game you use the printed police and gangster "Justice" cards in this version of Getaway.

Police: every time you driver by the Police Station advance peg one hole. Every time your car goes off the road move peg back one hole. Every time there is a collision both player take one "Justice Card." The Police take cards marked "Police" and the Gangster takes cards marked "Gangster." Definition of collision; you hit the Getaway car ... push it off the road ... or touch the Getaway Car. The "Justice Card" will determine who was at fault in the collision and will determine if a penalty or reward should be judged. You win if you become Police Chief first.

Gangsters: Every time you drive by the Police Station advance peg one hole. Every time your car goes off the road move peg back one hole. Every time there is a collision ... you must take a card from the Gangster card stack. This card will determine your penalty or reward. Definition of collision: You hit the Police Car .... push it off the road ... or touch it. You win if you become Public Enemy number One first.

Switching & Avoiding Collisions, a Great Lesson of the DX Game

Speed of your Police Car and Getaway Car are not as important in this game as skill in switching and avoiding collisions. Because of the exciting nature of "Getaway" you will be playing the game hour upon hour and your batteries will eventually run down. It is therefore recommended that you purchase an inexpensive battery charger to prolong battery life.

Playing FBI and Underworld Game on your DX Getaway Board

To play the FBI and Underworld Game on your DX Board you will use the Police and Gangster "Justice" cards in this version of Getaway. First all the cards are put into one stack and mixed up. Place them face down on the game board. Every time there is a collision ... one card only taken. The card showing on top of the deck determines which player takes the card: Police or Gangster. Only one card is taken for each collision.

Police: you start the Police Car in front of the Police Station. Every time you drive by the Police Station advance peg one hole ... only if you have not had a collision, gone off the road, or other wise stopped since the last time you went by the Police Station. You can use any short cut you desire just so long as you go past the Police Station. Since you are the Police you do the chasing. if the Getaway car gets behind your car and is one car length behind as you go by the Police station move peg back four holes. If your Police car catches the Getaway Car in the small switching roadways which run across the board, then the point penalties are rewards on the cards are doubled.

Gangster: You start your Getaway Car at the arrows on the Country Side of the game board. Every time you drive by the Police Station advance peg one hole only if you have not had a collision, gone off the road, or otherwise stopped since the last time you went by the police station. You can use any short cut your desire just so long as you pass the Police Station. If your Getaway car is behind the police car one car length as you pass the police station you advance your get four holes and the police must move their peg back four holes.
