5 Unique And Imaginitive Must Play Video Games
1 - De Blob Series
Yes, I said series, as in play all of them. The De Blob games might look like silly little childrens games at first but they are amazingly fun. They are also some of the most unique games you will play.
You play as a paint blob in a world where all of the color is being stolen by an evil army of ink blob people. Your job, as hero De Blob, is of course to save the world, restore color to the planet, and liberate an oppressed people! You do this by acquiring stolen paint, painting buildings, platforms, stomping Inkys and many more things.
This is a game series that is hard to put down once you've started playing. You watch the cities in the game come to life and you actions in the game effect the music that is played. The first De Blob is exclusive to the Wii but De Blob 2 came out for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 as well.
2 - Portal 2
Portal 2 has some of the most unique game play on the market. It has no combat but the game play all revolves around guns, portal guns.
You use your portal gun to place two portals. What goes through the first portal you place comes out the second portal. You can replace the portals as many times as you need to get through each level.
Portal 2 is a puzzle-platformer that has some of the best level design you will find in a video game. Prepare to have to deal with all kinds of platforming challenges including gravity changing.
The developers also added two play co-op into Portal 2 which is a great addition to the series.
3 - Heavy Rain
Heavy Rain is a game that defies current video game genres. The story is a action thriller crime store but the game play doesn't have a category yet. The only controlls through most of the game are using the joy stick to move and what ever action happens to be flashing on screen.
The game plays out in a quick time button type system. In order to complete actions you hit certain buttons in certain orders and move the joystick in certain motions. It may sound strange on paper but it is one of the most imersive controll scheams I've ever used.
To add the immersion Heavy Rain has a truly evolving story line. It is the real deal when it comes to a game that reacts to your actions and you actions in the game can completely change what parts of the story you experience. On top of that all it also supports PlayStation Move which while I don't have the fortune of owning I'm sure makes the game even more immersive.
This is definitely a must play game.
4 - Super Mario Galaxy Series
Yes I'm saying you should play for the first and second game with this series as well.
Super Mario Galaxy games are like many other Mario games except they take place in space and send you on an adventure across the galaxy. You will explore many different environments in these games all of which are unique, you won't experience these types of imaginative environments in any other game.
You hop from object to object in space completing objectives and solving puzzles on each of the many stunning levels. These games will amaze you with their heart pounding boss battles and constantly changing environments.
Of all of the Mario games I have ever played (and I've played a lot of Mario games) these two games have to be my favorites hands down.
5 - Saint's Row: The Third
Saint's Row made it on this list by taking the "game" part of the phrase "video game" to heart. Saints Row: The Third is a wacky and exiting crime action game which focuses on being completely absurd.
This is a game that is about using your imagination to dress your character crazily and create insane vehicles and then go out and blowing everything up. Oh, and did I mention that you use crazy weapons such as jet air planes and giant sex toys to destroy everything around you?
Saint's Row: The Third is all about screwing around with you friends either by passing around the controller or playing multiplayer and it is an intense experience that refuses to take it-self seriously. This is the definition of a sandbox game and has hours of fun for you.
