A Buying Guide to Nintendo Wii Fit Accessories and Games
There are ways to improve your Wii Fit experience
The Wii Fit is a great idea and a great way to sneak in some exercise while also playing video games, but it's a little boring out of the box. I mean, it's just a balance board that looks like a bathroom scale and a game that will show you how to use it and also do some rather simple workouts and games.
There are plenty of ways to spice up your Wii Fit experience. We'll start with some games:
Games: The best workout games for the Wii Fit, in my opinion, are Gold's Gym Cardio Workout and Wii Ski and Snowboard. A snowboarding game just made sense for use with the balance board, since so many of the motions you'll make with your body will look like movements you'd make on a snowboard.
Balance Board Accessories: You can improve your balance board with a few devices. You can get silicon (or is it silicone) slip covers that will make your board less slippery, which you'll appreciate once your feet start sweating. You can get them in a variety of colors, including blue, green, pink, and black. If you're using your balance board on a hardwood floor, you'll probably want to get a balance board mat to put beneath the board. This will prevent it from slipping and at the same time protect your floor.
There is also a Wii Fit Push Up Bar that goes on top of the balance board so you have something to grip when you're doing push ups. The final accessory I'd like to tell you about is the aerobics step platform. It goes under your balance board and makes the step ups during your aerobics routine a little harder and therefore more beneficial. Stepping up on to a board that sits half and inch off the ground just doesn't have the same effect as a platform that raises it 3 inches.
