Addictive Game Ideas

Updated on May 7, 2015

Peggle Nights

Peggle Nights is a downloadable puzzle game from PopCap Games which is available on Windows, Mac OS X, Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network platforms. The object of each level in Peggle Nights is to clear all of the orange colored pegs by hitting them with a ball which is fired from the top of the screen. Each of the games stages, or levels, has a different pattern of colored pegs. Only a limited number of balls can be used to clear the orange scoring pegs, so players must line up their shots to maximize the number of pegs hit. There is a huge amount of luck involved, but hitting green colored pegs will activate a special attack in the form of a creature which eliminates rows of pegs. Examples include a fire breathing dragon and a squid which shoots electric bolts. While the player actually has very little control over the game, PopCap have succeeded in creating a highly addictive game which can engage players. It is one of those games which will have you saying “just one more try” as you desperately try to advance through the stages.

Everyone's Favorite - Plants Vs. Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies is a tower defense style game published for PopCap Games. The game was originally released on Windows and Mac OS X platforms, but its popularity soon led to a flurry of releases on Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, Nintendo DS and Android app store. The game places the player in the role of a homeowner planting varies plants to repel an army of zombies attacking his home. Each variety of plant or fungi has its own offensive and defensive capability. The playing area is divided into horizontal bands and the majority of zombies can move only along one lane. Similarly, plants can generally attack only zombies traveling on the lane in which they are planted. The zombies come in various types each with different abilities in regard to speed, damage and special attributes. The story mode of the game is single player, but there are several multi-player modes and mini games. Plants vs. Zombies also features zombie versions of other PopCap releases such as Bejeweled.
