What is Alex Kidd?
Alex Kidd, one of the first Sega mascots, was a character from the late 80’s video game franchise. The most popular game in the series was Alex Kidd in Miracle world which was inbuilt into the Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive.
Growing up in the 80’s I loved nothing better than playing Alex Kidd in Miracle World on my Sega Master System. It was a game filled with adventure, strategy and imagination! Compared to today’s game consoles, the graphic was very simplistic, yet I loved every bit of that game and spent hours with my siblings playing it.
Feeling nostalgic, I decided to track down a Sega Console and play Alex Kidd one more time. As a kid, I never finished the game in it’s entirety, and wanted to see if as an adult, I could finish playing all levels.
Turns out, many other people had the same idea as me, and I spent many weeks on an ebay bidding war trying to secure my Sega Master System. Finally, after a couple of weeks I managed to win a bid on a Sega Mega Drive with inbuilt Alex Kidd in Miracle World.
From the first time I picked up the corded remote control, all my sega memories came flooding back and I instinctively knew how to play Alex Kidd again and I remembered all the cheats.
Where Can I Play Alex Kidd in Miracle World?
If you are getting a craving to play Alex Kidd, don't despair, there are several ways to play the classic game. Ebay is your best option, if you want the entire Sega console with the inbuilt Alex Kidd game. You will likely find more auctions for the Sega Mega Drive than for the the original Sega Master System. From memory, some of the Mega Drives had a different inbuilt game, so ask the seller what the inbuilt game is before making a bid.
Where Can I Play Alex Kidd Online?
Feel like playing Alex Kidd online? Whilst you don't get that same retro Sega Master System feeling playing Alex Kidd online, it's still good fun if you're feeling a tad nostalgic.

Alex Kidd on Wii Virtual Console
If you own a WII you can play Alex Kidd using the virtual console. There are hundreds of classic games available to purchase from the Wii Shop Channel. I personally have never tried playing Alx Kidd on the wii, as personally I wanted the whole retro experience with the original controller and console. However, I’m interested to know how it compares to playing it on the real deal.
