Battlefield 3 Armored Kill DLC Releases Sept. 4!

Updated on August 27, 2012

New downloadable content for Battlefield 3 will be available on September 4, 2012 for PS3 Premium Subscribers. The new DLC is called Armored Kill. Armored Kill is the third map pack for Battlefield 3 after the Back to Karkand and Close Quarters DLC. Two more map packs will be available after Armored Kill called Aftermath and Endgame. There will be four maps in Armored Kill, one of which will be the largest map in Battlefield's history! Battlefield 3 has always been known for it's large maps and chaotic battles (especially on PC due to higher amount of players), but this pack will feature one map that is even bigger than all previous!

Xbox 360 & PC Users will get Content After

The Armored Kill map pack will release for Xbox 360 and PC users later in the month. Normally, Xbox 360 users get map packs or other DLC earlier. A good example was the the Skyrim Dawnguard DLC (which has not released for PC and PS3 yet).

Battlefield 3 Armored Kill Adds New Vehicles & New Game Mode.

A new game mode called Tank Superiority will be included in Armored Kill. Tank Superiority is kind of like a "king of the hill" game mode. You could also consider it like a Conquest Mode, except for the fact that tanks are involved with only one flag in the middle of the map. Each team will get about 4-5 tanks at the start of the game. The tanks will instantly respawn when they are destroyed. This is better so other players who died or did not get in a tank will not have to wait as long at the spawn area.

Tank Superiority mode in Battlefield 3 will be very chaotic. It's hard to say how this game type will be balanced because people without tanks may have an unfair advantage. Another thing that will make this game mode action-packed is the fact that there is only one flag. This will essentially mean that all the tanks on each side of the map will collide due to the fact that there is only one flag.

Battefield 3 Armored Kill will contain 6 new vehicles; an AC-130 gunship, two light tanks, two mobile artillery vehicles, and the ATM. Players will be able to parachute from the AC-130 or use the cannons to fire at enemies.

I love this game - although I have not yet purchased the premium content, so I guess I will not be able to try this new DLC for a while.
