Cute Teddy Bear Friend

Updated on November 13, 2014

Cute Teddy Bear

Did you have a fuzzy teddy bear. as a child? I had one long before I was three years old. He went with me everywhere I took him, and never complained. He was always up waiting for me when I awoke in the morning ready to play. And he listened with great interest whenever I told him what was on my mind and heart.

And he was a great defender. There wasn't monster to ever enter my life that Teddy didn't whip soundly. Teddy was one bad a$$ bear!

But Teddy got sick one day and had to be taken to the hospital. His stuffing was coming out. I was sad because I loved him with all my heart. I prayed for him every night with my mother looking on. She worried about Teddy as much as I did. I could tell. But she did not seem hopeful he would get better. She kept me updated with the latest reports from the doctor's but the news was not encouraging.

Time went slowly on and still Teddy did not return from the hospital. After awhile I accepted that he went to heaven..I was sad but I knew he would watch over me from there always and it would be OK.

Hey, Terry. Loved every single SYLLABLE of this. Brilliant. I used to have a teddy bear that I REFUSED to part with even though his fur had turned from pink to black!!! I was about twelve when I finally relented

      Hi Sheila,

Cute story. You know I always wanted a teddy bear and my parents always bought me dolls which I didn't care for and no one else ever bought me a teddy bear. I wonder if I am a first to have to buy their own?

Hi Jackie Lynnley. That is almost kind of sad. But I bet someday someone special will be the first to buy you that Teddy Bear. I can just feel it in the air. It will be worth the wait. Thanks for the story.

Sweet story - it's amazing how we bond with that one cuddly bear, when we are kids. I used to cry, if anyone dropped my teddy on the floor - thinking it must have hurt it's head. :-)

A very beautiful story. I love my teddy bear. Mine looks exactly like the brown one, but it's black and has a blue bow. I donated all of them except this one. I sleep with my bear too. thanks for sharing. I enjoy reading your work.

Aww, so sweet!!! I had a teddy bear too. Actually, it was Smokey the Bear and when you pulled his string he talked about how to prevent forest fires. Sadly, I woke on morning and couldn't find him. I was hysterical! It came out years later that my older brother threw him in the incinerator. My big brothers could be so mean to my dolls and stuffed animals. I am sure that your bear took all those secrets of yours and turned them into magical life memories for you. I hit many buttons on this special story.

Hi Minnetonka Twin. I hope you are still recovered from the cancer, if you were the one. Seems like it was you. Teddy was a great guy. It was good to remember him for a moment at 59 years old.
