Top 10 Action Figure Sets

1. G.I. Joe (1982-1994) G.i. Joe men were under 4 inches tall but, they were very movable. G.I. Joe was known as G.I. Joe, A real American hero. Also, Each G.I.Joe men came with weapons and a description card. Helicopters, airplanes, jeeps and tanks were also part of this Hasbro series. There were a special order Joe characters such as SGT. slaughter and the Hooded face Cobra Commander. Growing up I had around 70 G.I. Joe men and my favorites were: Hooded Cobra Commander, Destro and Storm Shadow.

2. Transformers (1984-Present) Transformers were very unique when they first came out for sale. Robots that can be turned into trucks, cars, weapons and aircraft. These toys have produced over 200 different products. They started out as small sized action figures then they began making them smaller. More or less the opposite of the way G.I. Joe went about it. Transformers have made movies and cartoons throughout the decades.

3. Star Wars (1978-1985) Star Wars toys are the most collected action figures of them all. One reason is because their have been hundreds of different action figures and accessories made during their initial release. The weapons and large space ships are amazing and show great detail. The action figures are based on the original two Star Wars films.

4. He-Man (1976-1990) He-Man and the Masters of the Universe were very popular toys from the late 70's all the way through the 80's. He-Man was the key good guy and Skeletor is the leader of the bad guys. Besides the characters it's the animals and beasts that make this toy collection top notch. They have dinosaurs and wild beasts that the action figures actually ride on.

5. Thunder Cats (1984-1987) Thundercats did not last very long but, they produced some good toys. They had 16 action figures and each one came with their own weapons. They bent at the knees, elbows and the head swiveled around any way you wanted it to. The swords, knives and bows were very hard and good quality.

6. Indiana Jones (2008-2011) The Indiana Jones action figures were based on the characters from the movie of the same name. This collection featured many weapons, gadgets and even a large temple to go with the toys. Flashlights, whips, knives, ropes and a radio are just a few of the items that come with the action figures.

7. Inhumanoids (1986-1990) The line of Inhumanoids action figures were based on the cartoon series. Each and every scientist has parts of their body that glows and lights up when touched. Although they only made these toys for a short time they made a bunch of them including three monsters that were huge.

8. Wrestling Super Stars (1984-1989) This collection had a wrestling ring, title belts and of course the wrestlers. The original collection had 12 wrestlers and Hulk Hogan had the championship belt. Also, they were rubber and very easy to bend any which way you wanted them to. Although many versions of toy wrestlers have come out nothing tops the original WWF collection.

9. Star Trek (1975-1978) Star Trek came out with action figures based on the original show with Captain Kirk and Spock and also they produced toys based on the newer version of the hit television show. This ranking is based on the former. Spock, Captain Kirk and the very big Starship Enterprise are why these action figures are so fun. The ship is equipped with everything just like the one in the show.

10. Centurions (1985-1988) This set had 8 main action figures but others came out toward the end of production. The accessories that came with this series made it a stand out toy. They had detonators and bombs and of course air and water craft. The Evil forces consisted of 4 enemy action figures.

Best Cartoons Featuring Action Figures

G.I. Joe ( This cartoon had a moral purpose and it always ended by teaching a lesson to kids and then saying that knowing is half the battle.)

Thunder Cats ( This cartoon was known for it's intense music and sound effects not to mention the bad guys which looked freaky as can be.)

Inhumanoids ( This show was very short lived but it was exciting. The scientists had to stop these humongous monsters by any means necessary.)
