Best Wireless Gaming Mouse

Updated on May 22, 2012

A new wireless gaming mouse makes a great gift for anyone that enjoys playing games on their PC. If you are a gamer upgrading to a mouse designed for gaming may increase your comfort and performance while playing. If you are still using the mouse that came with your PC for gaming you are probably not playing to your full potential. A mouse designed with the gamer in mind offers extra features that increase precision and decreases reaction time. They offer extra buttons that are easily customizable so fans of MMORPGs will love adding spells and abilities for quick access.

Not so long ago many complained a wireless mouse was inferior for gaming because of delayed responsiveness, and short battery life. In recent years these complaints have been silenced with new technologies that make wireless mice as responsive as their corded counterparts. Battery life in wireless mice has been extended considerably, and many even offer quick charge cables that can easily be plugged in, allowing you to charge and play simultaneously. If you are looking to upgrade your mouse for gaming, why not ditch the tangled cords and increase your play performance at the same time.

Logitech Wireless Performance Mouse MX for PC and Mac

This mouse offers great charging flexibility, allowing you to recharge through your computer or a wall outlet. You can even charge and play at the same time. Logitech's new darkfield laser tracking technology means this mouse will work smoothly on almost any surface, including glass. The ergonomic design is comfortable during long gaming sessions. It offers two extra buttons along the left side that can be used for spells and abilities.

For all around computer use this is a great upgrade, but it may not offer enough extra buttons for the serious gamer. If you are looking for something that is smaller and less obtrusive than other gaming mice this is probably a great option.

Razer Orochi Elite Mobile Gaming Mouse

Razer is a leading name in gaming peripherals, and this wireless option doesn't disappoint. It offers wired and wireless play, and Bluetooth 2.0 functionality. The ambidextrous design makes it a top choice if your left-handed. 7 fully programmable buttons offer plenty of functionality and ease of use. 5 different application profiles make this mouse perfect for switching between games. If you are looking for a smaller and more comfortable gaming mouse this is a great choice. Other Razer mice offer more programmable buttons, but can be too uncomfortable to grip.

Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse G700

This affordable mouse from Logitech offers 13 programmable buttons for quick access to spells, abilities and macros. It offers storage for 5 gaming profiles, so it's convenient for those that play multiple games. The adjustable sensitivity provides quick responsiveness with 5700 max dpi offers highly accurate tracking.

This mouse is a bit on the heavy side, so it may not be perfect for all around computer use. It can only be charged via a usb port, but doesn't offer wired play as well.

Razer Naga Epic Gaming Mouse

This dual-mode mouse offers wired and wireless play, and no downtime when switching between the two. It provides 17 customizable buttons, more than enough to ensure all your spells and abilities are easily within reach. It comes with three different side panels for various grip styles. This is a top choice for any MMO player. Smaller and more light weight than similar options, so it's comfortable to use for long periods.

Cyborg R.A.T. 9 Wireless Gaming Mouse

This very customizable wireless mouse is perfect for different grip styles. The ability to adjust both the length and the thumb panel ensure it will provide a comfortable gaming experience. You can adjust the weight because it comes with 5 6-gram inserts. There are even extra included palm rests and pinky finger grips so no need to worry that it won't fit your particular grip style. There are six programmable buttons and custom DPI settings. It comes with two lithium-ion batteries and a charging dock, so no need to worry about loosing power.

Overall this is the most customizable wireless gaming mouse you will find. I use this mouse regularly, and love it. It's a bit on the pricey side, but offers any feature you will ever need for gaming. It took me a few days to get used to all the extra features, but that's probably the case with any gaming mouse you choose.
