Black Ops 2 Zombies Will Have Buildable Items Like Riot Shields

Updated on November 1, 2012

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 zombies is going to feature buildable items that you can create to use against the zombie horde. Treyarch has released a short video showing a riot shield that a female character is using against the zombies. In the video, there is some short gameplay of zombies being shot by the "Type 25" gun. After a few zombies are shot, the video then shows the character combining a cart-like trolley thing with a car door to build a riot shield at a workbench (or buildable bench). Then at the very end, the character is running towards several zombies with the riot shield and the video ends.

Throughout the history of Black Ops zombies (and World at War zombies), there has never been any devices you could create. You could buy weapons, perks, upgrade weapons etc. but could never actually craft items. This should prove to be a welcome addition to the already popular zombies game mode.

Black Ops 2 Zombies "Buildables"

Treyarch has not released a whole lot of information about Black Ops 2 zombies other than the couple of trailers. However, there will be other items besides the riot shield that players will be able to create. In order to craft an item at a buildable work bench, the player needs to find the pieces needed to build it. More than likely, only one item will be able to be taken to the buildable bench at a time.

The fact that riot shields are being thrown into the mix will make for an even more interesting zombie killing experience. Considering the fact that there will be so many zombies, the riot shield could fend off some so you can get through certain areas of the map.

Also, this is not verified, but the player may need blueprints as well in order to create the riot shield and other buildable items. If you look closely at the Black Ops 2 zombies trailer, there is a blue print behind some zombies.

I wanted to Pre-Order the Hardened Edition simply to get the Nuketown Zombie map, but sadly, GameStop was not accepting any more pre-orders for the Special Hardened Edition.

Hopefully I, and other players that buy the Standard Copy of Black Ops 2 will be able to download the map that is only available to those who got the special copy.
