Black Ops Ascension - Solo Strategy - Zombies

Updated on February 10, 2011

Black Ops Ascension Zombie Map - Solo mode

Ascension is the largest zombie map for Call of Duty Black Ops thus far. This map is much larger than previous maps, even larger than Kino Der Toten. This map has new perks, new weapons, and more. Solo mode on zombies can be pretty difficult in the beginning, however, the games difficulty adjusts to how many players there are. There will be less zombies on solo, than there would be with four players and so on...

This strategy can technically be done with more than one person, but they would have to be on another part of the map for it to work. Basically, you run around in circles near the phD Flopper perk. There's a few thing you should know first though.

EARLY ROUNDS 1-5 ASCENSION

Since your by yourself against the zombies, you need to make sure you do not get down. Buy a m14 off the wall, but do not use it right away. Use the pistol and knife to make some money. There are two windows at the bottom, and two at the top. Choose which windows you want to defend first cause you can not defend them all. Just be careful because the centrifuge machine in the middle will spin, and this can kill you! This can also kill zombies if there in the way though. Also, when your up on the balcony, watch for zombies that will jump from down below. There are two parts of the balcony where zombies can jump on to!

TURNING ON THE POWER

You can find the power switch to Ascension by opening the bottom doors or top doors. Look for the white arrows that indicate what direction to go. If you open the bottom doors, you will need to go up multiple flights of steps. If you open the top doors, take a right, and open the gate outside, and enter the building nearby. Each way prompts you to open three doors. The first way allows faster access to jugger-nog though. The power is on top of the roof along with the mystery box.

Tip: You should make a crawler to give yourself time to use the mystery box and buy perks.

Circle the Lander, near phD flopper perk

Black Ops Ascension - Running in circles at the Lander

It is highly recommended you get a ray gun and thunder gun for this strategy. In the early rounds, it will not be to difficult, but eventually, zombies will get very strong. Go to the lander pad near phD flopper. There is a balcony in front of it where you can jump off. Call the lander. (this prevents zombies from running straight at you)

Basically, all you need to do is run circles around the the lander pad, and most of the zombies will follow behind you. However, you will need to shoot some zombies in front of you, and this is why the thunder gun is very useful.

Jugger-nog and quick revive are almost a must! Your going to be very close to the zombies, expect to take some hits! Speed cola will also be good to use, but always buy the other two perks first! As for the final perk, choose between phD flopper, and stamin-up. (You can not buy 5 perks)

USING GERSCH DEVICE

The gersch device can aid you significantly when running around in this circle. If you were to get downed with quick revive, once you get up, you could quickly throw this to prevent zombies from attacking you right away. This is useful since you'll lose jugger-nog if you get down.(along with other perks)

Also, you can always use the lander if you run out of ammo as a last resort, or jump off the balcony.

i think a good one fer multi is once u open outdoors or whatever upstairs. lean against the ak74-u gate and defend here. go through downstairs and work your way out. it will be easy to defend. i have not played many times. but i think this will be useful.
