Brain Teasers - Mess with your mind

Updated on August 22, 2013

How many people are in this picture?

My Nemesis

My Mom’s nemesis was magic, for the life of her she needed to know ’how’ everything was done, would get frustrated when she couldn’t figure it out, yet seemed drawn to it like moths to a flame.  She had to watch David Copperfield on TV, trying to figure out where the elephant went.  I think if she was alive now Criss Angel ’Mind Freak’ would be the show she’d love to hate.  She’d watch it, cuss at the TV, swear it was all fake, yet turn in to next weeks’ episode.

Mine is brain teasers.  Brain teasers of all sorts, I love them yet have such a difficult time figuring them out.   I will hunt them down, only to be disappointed when I can’t figure them out.  Sudoku makes me nuts but I can’t turn away from them.  I manage to ruin everyone I see, particularly in someone elses newspaper that is carelessly laid around .  I can do the easy one’s with no problem, but head into the more difficult ones, and I’m lost.  Occasionally I will get one right, but I think that is more dumb luck than anything else.

I like to make my mind work, but for some reason brain teasers just escape me.  I’m not sure if I try to hard to work them out, and end up making things more difficult than they need be.  But that is neither here nor there, I thought I would share some fun teasers with you.

Truckers Favorite!

Don was driving his semi under an overpass when suddenly he came to a screeching halt. Don wasn't paying enough attention and inadvertently drove under the overpass that was just barely as high as his truck. The semi was wedged so tightly that he could not go forward or backward. A fellow trucker came by and told him how he could easily get the semi out from under the bridge. What did he suggest?

A. He uses the ‘dates’ from the calendar to eat, the ‘springs’ from the bed to drink and the ‘keys’ from the piano to get out.

A. She had already put sugar in her tea and when she tasted the new tea it was already sweet.

A. A quarter and a nickel. One of them is not a nickel, and that’s the quarter.

Q: A man is in a room and the door is locked so he can’t get out. He has with him a piano, a calendar, and a bed. How does he eat, drink and get out?

Q. A woman was horrified to find a fly in her tea. The waiter took her cup and went into the kitchen and returned with a fresh cup of tea. She shouted, “You brought me the same cup of tea!” How did she know?

Q.  Two American coins add up to thirty cents, one of them is not a nickel.  What coins are they?

Throw a little religion in there...

Q. The priest in my hometown told us that on a particular day he would walk on water for 30 minutes. The lake was not dry and we all observed the priest actually walking on water. How?

A. It was winter and the lake was frozen.

Q:  What’s Greater than God?
More Evil than the Devil?
All Poor people have it?
Rich People need it?
Albert Einstein didn’t know it
And if you eat it, you will die?

A. Nothing

Look for the Answers on this page

Q: What kind of cheese is made backwards?

Q: Even if you give this to someone else you still get to keep it. What is it?

Q: What insect does a blacksmith manufacture?

The Answers are here somewhere!

Q: A boy, Arthur and his father were traveling in their car, there was a terrible accident and the father died. The boy was rushed to the nearest hospital, the head Surgeon looks at the boy and says “I cannot operate on this boy, because he is my son.” Who is the Surgeon?

Q: What traps warmth Sprays forth ice and water Yet slips through your fingers with ease?

Q: The young of a pig is called piglet and the young of an owl is called owlet. What is the young of a bull called?

Yep, I know the answer to this one... But ti's not in here!

A: The Surgeon was his Mother.

A:  Clouds.

A:  Bullet!  Not calf!  (Yeah, I think it's dumb too)

Did you guess or look ahead?

A:  EDAM cheese. ( 'made' backwards is edam

A:  It is your word.

A:  He makes the firefly.

Did you figure it out? #1?

A. He told Don to let some air out of his air bags. This would make the truck lower and allow him to pass through.

Answer to the picture: 9 (I can only find 6) If you find them leave them in the comments below, if you feel like sharing!

Hope you enjoyed being teased as much as I did!

I too believe it is just as important to exercise the brain as other parts of the body. The phrase 'if you don't use, you lose it' comes to mind. Each day I try to learn something new, to keep my brain growing and developing as much as possible.

This is a great teaser. Love the mind teasers as they do test the mind. I think that exercising the mind just like exercising the body is good for keeping the mind in shape. Maybe something as simple as these teasers can help us all stay sharp as we grow older. Thanks it is a good read!

Umm, well the question says "The answer has 7 letters"... But I do so like riddles.

The actual answer to the "hardest riddle" is "Yes." It the question is not "what am I". the question asked is "Can you answer the riddle?" Also it cannot be "No" because that would mean you can answer it, which would create a paradox.

I love brainteasers too. Though by the way, the "if you give it away, you still get to keep it" can also be friendship and love. So you can pick your favorite answer depending on how sentimental you are.

Oh heavens no, I have no idea how these kids claim to know these answers! I remember waiting for nap time in kindergarten! There was another one that I didn't put on here, a picture of a bus... 'which direction is was going in'... Yeah all the kindergartners got that right too! Cause of the stupid door I couldn't see... Such logic!

But how do Kindergarten kids know about pressure ? When I was that age tying shoe laces still puzzled me. You saying they're smarter these days ?

My guess would be Pressure but I fail to see how a Kindergarten kid would work that out !

LOL Dave - All the answers are one here but 1... The last video.... That seems to be the newest 'hardest' teaser. And nope, it's not God.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

Trucker's favourite is easy simply let some air out of the tires, to lower the roof of the truck to clear.

The guy locked in the room could simply open a window. The ones I never left an answer for I got but never wrote here.

      bulls don't have babies.

      The Kindergarten answer is GOD.
