Buy Lego 9v Train Sets

Updated on March 13, 2011

Lego Trains is a large Lego Theme that was first produced in 1966 and has spawned loads and loads of different sub-themes. It started off in 1966 with 4.5/12 V Sets which lasted up until about 1986. From 1991 9V sets were produced but in 2006-7 Lego decided to merge the Trains into their Power Functions theme and to release Train sets based on the new electric LEGO Power Functions system. This started in 2009 with the release of The Emerald Night Collection.

Such is the interest in the whole Lego Train Genre that it has even produced it's own Quarterly magazine - "RailBricks" along with its own website www.railbricks.com. which has build instructions for different models based on various lego bricks and sets, Track Planning and Forums dedicated to Lego Train sets. It is also supported by the
International LEGO® Train Club Organization who are a bunch of Lego Train enthusiasts.

This hub will concentrate mainly on the golden age of Lego Trains the 9v era between 2001 to the finish in 2007..

Ebay is a great source for new and used Lego sets and they can be at extremely reasonable prices, Ebay also gives you a huge variety to choose from as well as allowing you to still find items that are no longer available

The Santa Fe Car Set was released in 2002 under the 9v sub theme and is an addon set to the Santa Fe Super Chief locomotive, it contains the bricks to make one of three different designs of carriage. This set contains 411 pieces.

This set allows you to build either a sleeping car, an observation car, or a dining car for your Sante Fe train. As you can only build one of the models at a time you would need to buy 3 sets and have all three.

The interior of all the three waggons is very detailed, even suitcases are included but no passengers. However you can use the minifigs that are included in other sets such as railway stations for passengers. You can also take off the roofs to play around inside, which always remain where they are when the engine pulls the waggons.

The interior of the mail or baggage waggon is a bit simpler than that of the three waggons you can build with 10022, but it would be difficult to make the interior of the mail and baggage waggons any more detailed due to lack of space.
