Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies "Ascension" Easter Egg Guide
Secrets Await In Ascension
Treyarch really knows how to create an explosion of controversy and interest around the hidden secrets and easter eggs they hide in the popular Zombies Mode game environments, especially when it comes to the First Strike Map Pack's new addition to zombies mode---the map "Ascension".
The good ole boys Nicholai, Dempsey, Takeo, and Richtofen, have ended up in the Russian Cosmodrome of Ascension and will need to fend off the oncoming apocalypse of zombies, but on their way, the fellas will run into a mystery man of sorts and help him escape from the Kassimir mechanism and complete the Mega Easter Egg of Ascension.
As well as the Mega Easter Egg, players can also enjoy the new hidden musical easter egg; another song by Elena Siegman. Let's take a look shall we?
Hidden Song by Elena Siegman
Elena Siegman is a musical artist that works for Treyarch Sound Studios. Her macabre metal style music and beautiful voice is well known among Call of Duty Zombies fans and is also well known for the many musical zombies mode easter eggs that she stars in.
Originally debuting in the map, "Verruckt", Elena Siegman can also be found starring in the musical easter eggs for the maps "Shi No Numa", "Der Riese", "Kino Der Toten", "Ascension", and the new "Annihilation Map Pack" level, "Shangri-la".
To activate the hidden song on the map "Ascension", players must press the "Action" button when prompted, on three different Teddy Bears, Treyarch has hidden throughout the map. The first Teddy bear can be found near the Olympia Shotgun, in the very beginning of the map. Open the door at the top of the first level, take a left and open the gate, then open the door to the room with the lunar lander in it. This where you can find the second Teddy Bear. It is sitting on the ground, behind the gate with the red stars on it. The third and final Teddy Bear can be found all of the way at the top of the map, where the Scythe can be purchased. Take a right when you enter the room and look at the top of the wall to find the cuddly little devil.
This will initiate the hidden musical easter egg by artist, Elena Siegman. You can actually, finally purschase the entire Call of Duty: Zombies Soundtrack, which has every single song and musical soundtrack ever used in the phenomena of Call of Duty: Zombies. That includes the hidden musical easter eggs, up to the map "Ascension". Check them out on Amazon and right here on this hub!
The Mystery Man Easter Egg Revealed
Who is this Mystery Man that is begging for help, when players first set foot on the map "Ascension" anyway? Well, what can be said is that this Mystery Man is trapped inside a device known as the Kassimir Mechanism and releasing him from his prison is the name of the game in "Ascension's" Mega Easter Egg!
There are a lot of steps that are involved in this Mega Easter Egg of Insanity and to begin them, players will need to get a hold of the new Wonder Weapon (and the replacement of the Monkey Bomb in Ascension), the Gersch Device, a.k.a. the Black Hole Bomb!
Outside of the playable area, near the stairs to the Lunar Lander and PhD Flopper Perk Machine, a peculiar whistling wind can be heard and a strange, flashing battery/generator can be seen near the building. A carefully tossed Gersch Device will suck this little generator up into its time warp and trigger the first step in the Mysteryman Easter Egg.
There are quite a few steps to this so I decided that a video walkthrough would be the best, (thanks to the NGT Zombies crew Youtube channel) which you can watch right here. The reward is extended-clip Death Machines for the entire party. Did I mention that you have to have a minimum of 4 players?
