Classic Games Review - Modern Warfare

Multi player

This game was all new and exciting when it was released as we had never seen a game with such a powerful multi player. The guns were superb, the game play was phenomenal, and this was a game made ahead of its time which made the experience all the more sere-real. I have said that the multi player franchise starts now and this is due to the impact which the multi player feature brought to the game as everyone was buying the game to play online. I remember at the time of the release of the game, I had friends who were buying the game which is why I bought it and we all fell obsessed with the multi player experience and we all had to reach prestige 10. Which was understandable as the levelling up in the game made the multi player experience all the more addictive. The game was released on November 9th 2007 and at that time I would have been 11 and for me this was the most fun game I had ever experienced and I spent a great deal of my spare time on the online multi player side to the game with my friends. For anyone who has not played the game it had by far the best muti player game play of 2007 with the levelling up and prestige system. For those who remember playing the game, you will remember the levelling up and the way this would happen is you would need to kill so many enemy's earning 10XP per kill or by achieving challenges. This was the first time that we had seen a multi player system that not only brought the best game play experience but also the best maps, ranking, challenges and social experience on the console.

Single Player

The single player experience on Modern warfare was addictive and drew you into the mayhem happening all around you with nothing less than an all out shooting massacre. The characters are great and have a real sense of belonging with the game, a great plot, great single player game play and superb first person shooter experience throughout. The varied missions make the game worth while as you will find yourself immersed in an all out battle between yourself 3 other friendly's and a bombardment of enemy's which you must eliminate, only armed with an assault rifle and pistol. Or you could find yourself sneaking around eliminating enemy's silently with a silenced sniper and pistol. Or finally you may even find yourself armed with an AC130 gun ship reeking havoc on the enemy's below. This all makes the single player experience exciting and brings hours of entertainment in the comfort of your living room.

This was a daring move for the Call of Duty franchise as they had previously done world war set games so this was a challenge to leave their comfort zone and move into a whole new war zone. Modern warfare is set around real wars and has brought some entertaining and brutal game play set around the modern war zone. The cut scenes make it feel like you are watching a movie and I don't think that I have ever skipped the cut scenes as they were so entertaining. I find it hard to find a single bad point to the game as it was so well structured and put together. Call of Duty reminds me a little of the Apple organisation as both of them have the distinct advantage of being a year ahead of their competitors and the Call of Duty Modern Warfare game was the game of the year in 2007. Any first person shooter fan would have fun playing the game as it is easy to get the hang of and there is no limit to the amount of fun you could have on the game. Unlike the single player campaign where you are limited at the amount of time you can spend playing, the multi player is never ending just like the amount of fun which can be had on the game.

Why buy Call of Duty Modern Warfare?

You can bring together your friends and immediately immerse yourselves in a multi player experience which will last a life time. Play alone and fight with unknown people from around the world and possibly even meet a few new friends. The social side to the Call of Duty Modern warfare game makes the multi player experience all the more fun as you can interact with players to work as a team to bring the enemy team down.

Not only is the multi player game play something to scream and shout about but also the single player game play allows you to collect achievements, shoot endless enemy's and have fun. The single player experience is a completely different experience to the multi player function on the game and you will feel and play differently which asking me is not only better but makes the game even more fun and exciting.

On single player you can play on different difficulties as with most other games, so if you are new to Call of Duty then you may want to start on easy and move your way up to harder difficulties at a later stage. The other difficulties include normal, hard and veteran which if you are thinking about doing the veteran difficulty, I would advice taking the missions slow and eliminating all enemy's before moving to the next point. I would advice this because if you just attempt to run through the missions willy nilly, then you will most certainly die. I think that on the veteran difficulty it is 3 bullets and you are dead. Due to this if your screen turns red with blood then lye down behind an object, preferably not an exploding object so you can replenish your life.

Even though it has been six years since the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, I believe this game to still be fantastic and well worth £17/$10 which you can buy it for these days. If you would like to buy Call of Duty Modern Warfare then you can purchase it for the PS3/XBOX 360/NINTENDO Wii.

Fan takeover

This was the first Call of Duty game to start being called COD for short and became a world wide known multi player game which sold more copies than Halo. The biggest Xbox 360 franchise game to hit the 360 was Halo but with the release of Modern Warfare this all changed as gamers took to Modern warfare like fish to water. Now six years later since the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, the call of duty franchise has increased both in popularity among gamers and brought some of the most dedicated gamers drawing them back to their consoles.

Classic Games Overview

The first multi player game to completely take gamers by surprise and create endless amounts of hours worth of fun. Even after 6 years since the games release people are still playing the multi player function which just proves how great the game really is. A levelling up experience like no other game which leaves you addicted and raring for more.

A single player experience like no other with an impressive set of elements which allows you to fight/shoot your way through all sorts of situations. Characters which define the game and leave the gamer wondering just what's next to come in the Call of Duty series.

Other things which you can do on the game are challenges where you can try to beat a time limit which is set and this is great, not only because its fun but also because it can earn you achievements. The achievements which are set out for the game are great and I especially found it fun trying to get the achievement for completing the game on hardened or veteran.

Thank you for reading my article and I hope that you have enjoyed reading and will rate the game yourself and add comments if you have any questions.
