The Gardenland Express Holiday Flower and Train Show

This show is very popular among young and old alike every year. Its a neat, indoor show where people can celebrate Christmas and other Holidays. Its usually cold this time of year in Missouri, and getting colder, so its perfect for brightening up the holidays. This is especially true when its gloomy outside.

The bright lights, decorations and sounds of trains filling the atmosphere is very pleasant and fun. They have a little game for kids to find different things throughout the exhibit which keeps them focused and having fun in that way if they want. This is nice for the parents and grandparents and others to look at all the flowers and decorations that they put out. They go all out, and go to great lengths to put on a nice show for everyone.

This year at the garden has been one of celebrating trees, and many are doing that throughout the world, from what I understand. Throughout the whole year they have a focus on trees. You will find that theme carried out as well here, with neat quotes from important people throughout, on little plaques, etc.

There is a fun tree where kids decorated ornaments as well, mostly made from things you can find outdoors. They have many flowers and plants, cacti and succulents even. Trees and shrubs and different kinds of evergreens are throughout.

One of my favorite things that surprised me was the Christmas tree made from poinsettias! It was bright red and beautiful! There is also a neat collection of nutcrackers as well. In this hub I am trying to focus on the trains themselves, as they are the true highlight of the whole show.

This has become a very popular event at the Missouri Botanical Garden every year. Its a fun tradition many people take part in from Thanksgiving and on past Christmas. The dates of the Gardenland Express Show are November 23rd, through January 2nd. Its perfect for people coming in from other areas that are visiting with their family from out of town to see throughout the holidays.

The succulent train has to be my favorite this year I think. I just can't get past how cute that was. It had little train cars filled with different small succulent plants, traveling around the tracks. It would go through the tunnels and come out again. It was so much fun.

I would highly recommend getting this event on an agenda at least part of one of the days it is running. It has a small fee, but is free to members of the garden. (The best deal in town!) Thanks to Missouri Botanical Garden for putting on such a great show. I have enjoyed it immensely.

What a great display -- I'm very much into trains so it's too bad I'm not in Missouri to enjoy this. Voting this Up and Beautiful.

Alocsin, thank you so much! :) Wish you could see it here. I hope maybe there is something in your area. I didn't know they did this here the first few years I lived here. Now I know its a recurring thing and I love to go.
