Could Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Finally Be Here?

Updated on September 7, 2017

Could the wait soon be over?

Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord was announced in 2012. The release date was set for 2015, Taleworld went to expos and showed gameplay videos, trailers and hyped up the release of the game. But then it was delayed till 2016. Then it was delayed till 2017, so far this year there has not been another announcement of a delay. So could this be the year?

If you are not familiar with the Mount and Blade series then I will give you a brief run down of the games. They are sandbox games, set in a fantasy world with different factions at war, with different characters of rankings and a world where you can do whatever the hell you want. You can choice to join a faction and work you way up the rankings or you can create you own faction and try take over the land. You take quests from other character such as kings, nobles, counts, princes, princesses and so on. Completing quests for character makes you in better standard with them and their faction, and even better standing if you marry in to the faction.....that's right you can get married and even to a King's daughter. You can make peace, go to war, siege castles, raid villages, recruit an army, enter tournaments and so much more. Basically if you haven't played a Mount and Blade game before you should they are a masterpiece.

Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord So far

Talewolrd were very busy this year and had stands and shows at many different expo's across the world, this including E3. At E3 they shows two open battle gameplay as well as a new cinematic trailer. These looked fantastic, the graphics look up to date and worthy of being one of the best games ever. The sword play still look dynamic, sustainable and complex just like in previous games.

They have also be regularly updating their website with information, screenshots and hyping the game. This gives more reasoning to why this could be the year. Given, it is getting late but fans have been waiting five years for this game and when it does finally come out there will be an uprising.

They have also released quite a few details on the game. We know it's set two-hundred years before Mount and Blade: Warband. They have revealed the faction are: Calradic Empire, The Vlandians, The Sturgians, The Aserai, The Khuzait, The Battanians and there could still be more to come. With at least six factions the game is set for all out warfare, total chaos and devastation. In the gameplay footage the seizing of castle has been massively improved. there is a new range of weaponry you can build from: seized tower, battering ranges, catapults, bombardments and more. We have not see the world map yet, but if its anything like the others it's going to be humongous. With a world of opportunity. There is rumors that you can promote your champions which would eventually allow them to have their own army which you can control. This would enable you to fight a battle on two front, flank opponents, seize castles for longer and expand you reach around the world.

There is no doubt about it Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord is going to be one of the best games ever made, there is nothing that can compare to it. The question is will you be riding in to battle with me?
