Fifa Soccer: The Path of a Champion. Tips on How to Become the Best?

Updated on May 4, 2017

Beginning of Your Path

In the 1993, the world was introduced to the Fifa franchise in which the player was able to choose the team that they liked or the team that the player consider to be best in overall stats. In this blog we will travel thru the Fifa Soccer world and I will show any player on how to be the absolute the best with any team regardless of overall stats. For instance , the major areas that I will touch upon within this blog will be what type of formation should be utilized, what type of style should the player possess and how to use the transfer window properly.

4-4-2 or 4-3-3 . It Does Not Matter

Formation it is very important component of the game soccer. Teams can play with a single striker with the midfielders advancing constantly or the team can play defensively with 5 defenders and 3 midfielders and 2 strikers. The Fifa games work they same way in terms on how the player can use their formation. For instance if I want to play in the 4-4-2 formation which is the most common formation in the game of soccer, I have to make sure that I am using my right back and left back properly in which they are attacking and defending just like they would do in real life. However if either my left back or right back are not fast enough the 4-4-2 will function through the midfield instead of the sides because the offensive midfield will be able to distribute the ball more accurately. One might wonder, what happens if I still do not have a good midfield or fast wingers.

Some leagues or teams will have higher attributes to their attack and lower stats for their defense and midfield that is why it is important to be able to consider a different formation. If the team you select has poor stats for the defense and the midfield it is crucial to change the 4-4-2 to a 4-2-4 or a 4-3-3. One might be wondering why did I suggest a 4-2-4 formation, simply because the fact that if the 4 forwards are strong enough the midfield will be barely used by your team. However, if you are having a difficult time scoring against the opposition the 4-3-3 might be the ideal formation for your team.

The 4-3-3 is also a very common formation utilized in the game of soccer that is why I consider this formation to be more balanced then the 4-2-4 and more aggressive than the 4-4-2. The 4-3-3 is ideal for players that like to utilize a fast team regardless of the overall stats. I usually utilize a modified version of the 4-3-3 in which my last forward works as number 10 in which the play more of a playmaker role instead of a scorer and I have a holding midfielder. I recommend any beginning player to test out the 4-3-3 prior to utilizing any formations, because your team will be aggressive against the opposition regardless of which team you select. The only downfall for choosing this particular formation is the fact that it will be hard to come up with your starting 11 without sacrificing the overall satisfaction of your player. Formation is the not the only thing to consider in your path to become the best, having the adequate playing style also influences on how the player will succeed in the game.

Defense is Your Best Offense

The Fifa games are like any other sport game in the market that the player has to strategize on how they are going to compose there team. Some players emphasize on speed , others like to have tall defense players and a different group of players like to have players that are able to play multiple positions. The way I always compose a team is to have a midfield that is going to be offensive minded and another center midfield that is going to be focused on taking down the opposition. When I utilize that center midfield is key that I am not using the tackling button because I want to avoid getting ejected from the game or getting a warning. In order to have a strong midfield in the game it is crucial for the player to take the ball with the passing button and then quickly distribute to the left winger or a possible center striker.

Utilizing the passing button makes any player's style flow better because you are not constantly interrupting the game and you do not have to play defensively. However, sometimes utilizing that button may cause unnecessary free kicks then it is important to stay calm and clear the ball with confidence. On the other hand there are players that do not like using the passing button to stop the opposition , so they try to stop all plays at all costs which can affect the flow of the game.

Having an aggressive style in the game of Fifa it is very common because the opposition will commit more mistakes as well as get more irritated with the player that is committing more fouls. However, being aggressive in Fifa may not be a good thing because the formation or the style of the player will constant change which can be problematic against tough oppositions. One could argue that being aggressive in the Fifa game a player can be unpredictable which can cause major headaches to opponents. Regardless if your style is passive or aggressive it is fundamental for your bench and your starting 11 to be equally strong defensively or offensively because the player never knows how there opposition is going to play against them.

Transfer Window

Oh to have the likes of a Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar in one single team may be far fetched in real soccer, but with the transfer window being a fundamental component in the Fifa franchise it is a possibility. Even though I would love to have those type of players in my team I am complete against in by all the best players in the world. One of the reasons why I am so against that concept is because the players in the game cost a lot of money just like real soccer and would not be able to keep current players in your roster. Becoming the ultimate best player in Fifa soccer it is crucial to keep most your roster and invest in areas of weaknesses.

One would argue that is what they do anyways, invest in players they believe will strengthen there squad. However, I utilize the transfer window in order to get rid of players of my weaker spots. For instance, if I have a weak defense , strong offense and a balanced midfield I am going to get rid of a least a defender and midfielder. By doing that I will balance the team more adequately and the chances of me winning against a better opponent will be much greater.

Another way I utilize the transfer window when composing my team it is to technically clean house and sell a lot of players that I either I am not going to utilize or they are going to be getting older throughout the career mode which can hurt my playing style. However, only utilize this idea of cleaning house cautiously because it might limit the amount of the players you have on your roster and in case of injury you will have to find a replacement quickly. Regardless of what you decide to do in your career mode with Fifa, always do not forget to have fun while playing the game. Hopefully my tips are helpful to all the players out there and once again thanks for reading.
