Finding The Wide Blade Knife and Miner's Helmet in Red Dead Redemption 2
The Wide Blade Knife and Miner's Light Helmet can be found in the same location in Red Dead Redemption 2. They are hidden in an old mining tunnel in New Elizabeth, north of Strawberry. The tunnel entrance can be found on the end of Beryl's Dream Trail.
Finding the Entrance to Beryl's Dream
Finding the entrance is not difficult. Follow Beryl's Dream trail until it ends, the mine is to the right. There is a large opening with wooden framing.
Unblocking the Tunnel Enterance
Go into the entrance and follow it downhill. You will come across a pile of rocks that were caused from a cave in. Upon further inspection you will notice a wire running from the rock pile and back up the way you came. Follow the wire up the hill, to its detonator. When you approach the detonator there will an indicator telling you how to hit the detonator.
Finding the Hidden Cavern
There will be an explosion immediately after you push the plunger. Go back to the area where there was a cave in and follow the tunnel. This will lead to a large cavern in the rock.
Go to the right as you enter the large cavern. There is another tunnel tucked away. Follow that tunnel, which will lead to the dead end. When you get to the dead end there will be a body laying on the ground with a knife in his back.
There are three items near his body that can be picked up. A Gold Nugget, A wide Blade Knife, and a Miner's Light Helmet.
Wide Blade Knife
The wide blade knife will go into the weapons wheel in place of your existing knife. You can still choose the knife you were previously carrying when you get back to your horse, but can not hold them both at the same time. It does more damage than the starting knife 2 out of 4.
The Miner's Light Helmet
This helmet is exactly as it sounds. It is a helmet that miners use to see in the dark tunnels. It can be worn instead of your existing hat. This will allow you to see in dark areas without having to carry around the lantern, which will give you a free hand to hold a weapon.
