Funny Game Ideas from Running Man

Running man of Korea is a very fun variety show to watch especially the games and missions they played. I love watching the games they played and how they made it so funny and very clever. Thus, I made a few compilation of easy and enjoyable games they played in each every episode which you can also try playing with your family and friends.

1. Mouth Paper-Rock-Scissors

Played from: Episode 1

Mechanics: Instead of using hands for rock-paper-scissors, it is funnily played using individual’s mouth. See the photos below for the illustration of Paper-Rock-Scissors using the mouth.

2. Chicken Fight

Played from: Episode 1

Mechanics: Oust your opponent by holding your one leg up to your thighs and while standing on your another leg.

3. Photo Zone/ Stay on the Photo Frame

Played from: Episode 1,2,5,7

Tools: Camera

Mechanics: -Let your face appear on the photo when the camera clicks.

-If there are two teams, the rule is that the team who has many member’s face appear on the photo, wins the game!

4. Cheerleading Speed Quiz Game

Played from: Episode 2

Mechanics: The person giving clues stands in the audience seats. The other members stands at the bottom and guess the answer.

Twist: Guess the answer through the shouts of the people cheering.

5. Telepathy Game

Played from: Episode 3

Tools: 2 headphones, questions and answer sheets

Mechanics: You must wear the headphones with loud music, so it’s impossible to hear what the other person says. The one giving questions must choose 1 question out of 10, while the other person answering it must choose 1 answer out of 10. If the question and answer don’t match, you lose.

6. Dangling Goal Keeper

Played from: Episode 3

Tools: Goal Frame, Balls

Mechanics: The assigned goalkeepers of the teams must dangle from the goal frame, and using their bodies, they must deflect/ block the balls from the opposite team. The team who has many goals, wins!

7. Human Rocket Game

Played from: Episode 4

Mechanics: This game can be played on a swimming pool. One member of the team will become the “rocket” and will jump to the other side of the pole. The team who manages to go over the highest pole wins!

8. Bin Curling

Played from: Episode 4 and 5

Tools: large garbage bin with wheels

Mechanics: The members of a team sits on the bin. Push the person in the bin to the middle of a circle and knock other opponent players off the circle. The team with the remaining players in the circle wins.

9. Run in the Ggangddong Tower

Played from: Episode 6

Tools: tin cans, tape, miniature tower

Mechanics: Each team members use the tin cans as shoes and pass the obstacles. Reach the end of the obstacle and grab the model of the tower. The faster one to return wins.

10. United Badminton

Played from: Episode 6

Tools: badminton tools

Mechanics: You tie up everyone’s team member’s hand together and start playing the badminton. Then the team that scores 5 points first wins!

11. Chopsticks Break

Played from: Episode 8

Tools: wooden chopsticks, desk

Mechanics: Put the chopsticks between the fingers and break the chopsticks by slamming your hand on the desk. Everyone gets a turn. If one member fails, then the opportunity goes to the opposing team.

12. Clothes Peg Tug of War

Played from: Episode 8

Tools: clothes peg attached to an elastic string

Mechanics: Clip the peg onto the face and pull. Whoever get rid of the pegs off on the opposing team’s face the fastest, will win.

13. Throwing Coins

Played from: Episode 10

Tools: coins, bowl with water

Mechanics: Throw the coin into a bowl filled with water. All members must be successful to win. You can use 1 meter or so for the starting line.

14. Catch the Thief

Played from: Episode 11,12,13,14

Tools: cards

Mechanics: All players are given a postcard. One of them is a thief postcard. Each player take a postcard from the person on his/her right side. The person who end up with the thief postcard loses the game.

15. Packaging Box Pull outs

Played from: Episode 11

Tools: large boxes

Mechanics: This game has similarity with the jenga game but uses a large box for an upgraded tool. To play this game, the box are stack together. Everyone is taking turns to pull one box without breaking the stacks. The person who breaks the stacks loses the game.

16. Game of Eye Expression/ Number Game

Played from: Episode 12

Mechanics: Each player must stand and call out a number in order starting from 1. The last player who have not shout out the number and the players who stand and shout the same number together are eliminated in the game. The concept is that you have to be faster than the others to see where the numbers are appearing.

17. Zero Game

Played from: Episode 13

Tools: microphone or any improvised tool

Mechanics: You call out a number from 0 to 7 and if the numbers of raised microphones from the other opponent players tally with the number you called out, you win.

18. 3,6,9 Bibbo Game

Played from: Episode 14

Mechanics: Each player must start calling out numbers from number 1. Any number that consists of 3, 6, 9, use the word Bibbo! to substitute.

19. Speed Quiz Game (Charades Style)

Played from: Episode 16,25,50,54

Mechanics: One of the members describe the given word by using the action or words and the other players guessed the answer.

20. Ddkaji Game

Played from: Episode 25

Tools: 2 ddakjis

Mechanics: Using the ddakji paper, slams it with a force to flip the other side of another ddakji paper.

21. Drawing Relay/ Draw in Rows

Played from: Episode 27

Tools: Sketch pads, pencil/markers

Mechanics: Sketch according to the hint the person in front gave, then show your sketch to the person behind you. Each person has 10 seconds to draw. If the last person can figure out what was the hint, the team wins!

22. Money Counting Game

Played from: Episode 33

Tools: money, money-counting machine

Mechanics: Each player is given a large sum of money and count how much of it with a limited time and while answering a multiplication table.

23. Find the air tickets

Played from: Episode 33

Tools: Luggage filled with things, ticket

Mechanics: There are tickets inside the luggage. After the player finds the ticket, repacks the luggage and get back to the starting point. The fastest player wins the game.

24. Pouring Water Expert

Played from: Episode 34

Tools: cups, water, chair, blindfolds

Mechanics: Pick a representative from each group. The representative has to be blindfolded when pouring water into a cup place on a member’s head. In order to be counted, it has to be pass the red line without spilling it. The winner will be decided base on the correct cups filled with water.

25. Throw the Can

Played from: Episode 43,49

Tools: empty can, dustbin/garbage bin

Mechanics: Easily throw an empty can on a dustbin from a specified starting point.

26. One Voice in Unison

Played from: Episode 50

Mechanics: In a 5-member team, pick one representative to be the one to guess. Each of the other 4 members speaks one syllable from a given word in unison. Then the representative must guess correctly the complete words to win the game.

27. Non-Stop Talking

Played from: Episode 54, 59

Mechanics: Within 30 seconds, members have to read a sentence correctly to succeed. But, if one is wrong then you have to start again from the first sentence.

28. Bean Relay

Played from: Episode 132

Tools: chopsticks, beans, plate

Mechanics: Each member of the team must move the beans using a chopsticks from one plate to another. The fastest team wins.

29. Guess the Thief/ Catch the Thief

Played from: Episode 132

Mechanics: The team guesses from the opponent team who is holding an extra card/ thief card.

30. Catch the Ball with a Tong

Played from: Episode 231

Tools: pin-pong sized ball, tong

Mechanics: Within 30 seconds, the player catches the Ping-Pong sized ball using a tong. A player who catches more balls wins the game.

31. Standing Soda can

Played from: Episode 238

Tools: Soda

Mechanics: Make the soda cans stand on their own.

Twist: Stand it on the their side, at a 45 degrees angle like a leaning tower of Pisa

32. Pass the Onion Rings

Played from: Episode 238

Tools: Onion rings

Mechanics: Move the onion ring. Each of the member’s team hold a cracker using the mouth. Using the cracker, move five onions one by one in 60 seconds.

33. Queen Dodgeball

Played from:115, 127, 139, 143, 172, 236 & 245

Tools: Soft ball, Wide area

Mechanics: You need to two teams to play the game. Each team assigns a queen or you can assign one queen in each every player. The rule of the game is to protect the queen for not to be hit by the dodgeball. Other team players are okay to be hit by the dodgeball except for the queen. Once the queen is hit, you lose the game.


34. Water Piggyback

Played from: Episode 56

Tools: A bowl of water, wide area

Mechanics: Each player chooses a partner to piggyback. Then all the couples starts to race while holding a bowl of water. The fastest couple to return to finish line with the most water remains, wins the game!

35. Peppero Game

Played from: Episode 126, 137

Tools: Pepero stick

Mechanics: This is a couple game in which two people take one side of the Pepero stick to eat and bit towards the middle. The rule is, the couple who have the shortest pepero stick remains, wins the game!
