Gold Making Resources

WoW Gold Making Resources (Not real gold!)

Here are some of the best sites out there on the internet that will greatly help you learn how to make gold as a second nature, all for free. You don't have to buy any gold guides or things like that.

Firelands Update

A quick update for those who are looking to prepare in terms of gold making for firelands on June 28.

Warcraft Economy

The numero uno site for learning wow gold making would probably be warcraft econ. You can find it at and it works as a mix of news site as well as gold tips. It is the or Wowinsider of wow gold making. A favorite feature on the site for many people would be the interviews it has with people who hit the gold cap which is currently 1 million in cataclysm or to be more accurate one copper coin short of a million. (The previous cap was only 214k gold)

They also do interviews on people who have hit a target of 250k and 500k gold. It is probably one of the most popular wow gold analysis sites out there.

The next site is that of the Greedy Goblin known as Gevlon. Adopting the personality of an internet grinch, Gevlon takes the war against those that he finds unworthy of goblin ideas. Along the way there are many helpful tips in which you can glean principles to be applied to your own server. He also has many very intriguing side projects that spans raiding in a non-'social' way or taking to war against the horde.

Here's something typical that you may see there:

  • With current herb prices crafting Cataclysm ink and trading in would be a huge loss, so only source of such ink can be random BC herb sellings. The alts post glyphs twice a day (early morning, early evening) for 25/45G. The income so far is 34200G.

The last site for now would be Just My Two Copper by Marko, or also known as Jm2C as a short form. Like some JP Morgan of the WoW world, he makes some real life money by publishing a free blog and a forum but also has a paid version showing a more refined guide to how he makes gold. Apparently he has decided to leave his lucrative business of selling wow gold guides so it remains to be seen how it will pan out.

Firelands Patch

The new firelands expansion is coming out and there are quite a few new variation of old ways to make gold. Quite a bit of wow gold making sites have gone about covering this!

Midsummer Fire Festival

Currently if you're into the midsummer festival do be warned, the items are not very great. The ilvl 353 cloaks are great for about 7 days before the patch hits and you can take just about under an hour to obtain ilvl 365 cloaks from the Thrall questline in Hyjal. The Ahune Frostscythe drop from the daily bags looks on the surface to be something good, but is actually beyond poorly itemized as it has 700 stamina. Unless you're a caster about to mage tank or a warlock trying to solo sartharion style it isn't particularly useful if not for the icy chill effect.

Diablo 3 Gold

Might gather resources!

For clarity, it would be good if the hub starts out by saying that it is about ingame gold, not real life gold. The current title in no way suggests that it'll be about World of Warcraft which won't do much good for attracting specific traffic.
