Grand Theft Auto Online: Solo Missions Volume 4

Updated on July 12, 2016
Eric Seidel profile image

GTA 5 and Online helped get me through a hard part of my life. When you spend THAT much time with a game you can't help but write about it.

The Reference Guide Has Useful Info

No really. Please read the Reference Guide (link on the right, or above(?) if viewing on mobile platforms). It has an explanation for some of the stuff you are about to read. It also helps for those moments where you're gonna think "hey what did he mean by 'set the Quick GPS'!?" I'm just trying to help you here.

Quick Reference Guide

Given by: <The Contact Character the Mission is given by, relevant to how difficult and how much money you could make from the Mission.

Rank Unlocked: <The Rank you will start to get notifications/unlock the listed Mission.

Possible Pay: <The amount of money you COULD get from playing the Mission Solo. May change from Update to Update.

Weapon(s) Recommended: <What you should use to blow up and shoot stuff.

Personal Vehicle Recommended: <Spoilers, you'll probably need something fast.

Best Place To Launch Mission: <Most Missions can be launched from specific spots on the map to prevent a long drive.

(At the bottom of Missions I will put in parenthesizes if you can do the above walkthrough at the Recommended Rank. Basically this will be the "you should wait to unlock a specific weapon or ability before doing this Mission Solo" section)

Bold means you could bring a friend along if doing the Mission Solo is too hard. (Nothing wrong with doing that.)

In Italics I'll point out old gen/new gen differences plus anything changes from a major update/patch.

Post Patch 1.29 Enemy Vehicle Ambush

Mixed Up With Coke

Given by: Martin

Rank Unlocked: 45

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $20,700 (after patch 1.30): $16,560

Weapon(s) recommended: Combat MG, Grenade Launcher, RPG, Heavy Sniper, Grenade or Sticky Bomb

Personal Vehicle recommended: Muscle class, fast and sturdy (lot of ground to cover and you’ll need some cover)

Best Place To Launch Mission: Clothing Store in Rockford Hills (near the Barber Shop)

Destroy the cement trucks

One of the mistakes I see happen most with this mission, even in co-op, is everyone goes through the main entrance of the construction yard. Doing this will get you more holes put in you than Butch and Sundance (yes it’s how it ended, get over it!). From the Clothing Store in Rockford Hills drive down the road toward the red blips. When you start to cross the freeway make a left onto the legal on-ramp (see first picture). Follow the highway taking the right off-ramp and stop when you see the construction site. Get out of your PV and park it along the wall (see second picture) to keep yourself protected from gunfire from the right, but take cover by the freeway wall. You have an elevated position so that helps too. Equip your Combat MG and take out every gunman you can see in the immediate area. Then use an RPG on the cement truck below. Use your Grenade Launcher n the enemy Grangers that appear on the freeway, once they stop coming get back in your PV. Drive up the off-ramp and over the stunt jump to get down below faster. You don’t have to hit the jump at full speed, just get to the ground. Drive up the beaten path and park your PV by the entrance of the construction site. Take cover behind your PV and gradually pop out to kill the gunmen, one at a time. “Gradually” because there’s a lot of them here. Also use your Grenade Launcher on the Grangers. Use an RPG on the cement truck to save Grenades for the Grangers (both stationary and ones driven by enemies). Take out the enemy vehicles that show up after destroying the truck.

Note: After Patch 1.29 the following is a bit different than what was originally written. The attack chopper and Grangers all come at you at once after you leave the construction site. The video walkthrough was made at an earlier date. Also note that the cement trucks will be in transit but the locations mentioned below, and seen in one of the screenshots, are still pertinent locations for where they stop.

Destroy the remaining cement trucks

You will get a text from Martin. Get back in your PV (sans the army of Grangers that attacks once you get a block away from the construction site) and drive to the cement truck in Mirror Park. Drive up Vespucci Blvd. heading toward La Mesa (the street with the Ammunation). Keep going straight and drive up the hill to set up a good vantage point (see third picture). Use an RPG on the cement truck and either take out, or ignore, the gunmen below. Use Quick GPS to set a waypoint on the last cement truck. It’s a long drive but follow the GPS route you made. Once you drive past the tunnel under Fort Zancudo use a Heavy Sniper Rifle to take it out of the sky (you might be able to hit the driver so just aim for the engine exhaust, it will take a few shots). Once that is dealt with just drive to the last cement truck and toss a Grenade or Sticky Bomb by it. This cement truck is basically unguarded so take your time and relax on the approach. Once it’s destroyed the mission is over.

(Yeah I did mention a lot of high Rank weapons here. Honestly waiting until you unlock the RPG is for the best in this walkthrough because you can avoid a lot of conflict thanks to it’s range. Even if you use the Homing Launcher instead you should still wait until Rank 80 to unlock the Combat MG. It’s got an outstanding range and stopping power.)

(If you coordinate with a friend, i.e. not a random player, this can be a great co-op mission. The above walkthrough can be done faster if you both plan ahead and agree to an attack strategy.)

As mentioned above patch 1.29 changed the behavior of the enemy vehicles once you leave the construction site. They all come at you at once. Take cover in the alley by Benny's lowrider shop (see - picture).

No Hay Bronca

Given by: Gerald

Rank Unlocked: 8

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $14,720 (still the same after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: SMG, Grenades, Marksman Rifle, Proximity Mine, Jerry Can

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: Los Santos Custom is La Mesa

Go to the deal

From the LSC drive down the road to the deal. Go through the chain-link gates, take cover behind you PV, and equip your SMG.

Retrieve the package

Shoot the red propane tank to start off your assault. Obviously the guy at the top of the incline is a priority too. More gang members will arrive behind you. Take them out next once they do, but don’t toss a Grenade unless you’re sure you have a clear throw. It could bounce off the gate and kill you instead (been there…). Once the reinforcements are dealt with continue with the last couple Vagos with the package. Once they’re all dead retrieve the package.

Deliver the package to Gerald’s apartment

Four enemy vehicles will come to the scene. While taking cover behind your PV (after you reverse back into the alley) use Grenades on them. Loot all of the bodies for Ammo, Cash, and Snacks. Drive to Gerald’s apartment.

Go to the gang territory

Pick up the Armor and Jerry Can here. The latter is useful, but not required for the next part; I’ll leave that up to you. Get in your PV and drive to the gang territory.

Destroy the gang’s vehicles

Shoot the red tank next to the Vagos in the alley. Then toss a Grenade near the fence to the right to get it out of the way. Go into this first lot and climb the ladder by the garage (see first picture). Climb the ladder quickly since a lot of angry gang members will be shooting at you all at once. Including the guy already on the roof of the building, kill him first, then gun down every gang member you see from up here using your Marksman Rifle. Once the area is clear (as clear as you can make it from here), climb back down and shoot the red tank to blow up the Cavalcade. Run across the alley and take cover behind the second house to the left (see second and third pictures). Equip a shotgun and use it to weed through most of the reinforcements. Watch your surroundings to the back and right, they can flank behind you there. Once you have made the situation comfortable for yourself run out to the main road (the one across the street from the Vagos neighborhood where you can find gang cars). Run up the street to the left, to the house with the white driveway (see fourth picture). Toss a Proximity Mine in front of the Phoenix parked here, but not so close that it blows it up. Run back into the alley and go down to the lot at the bottom of the hill (the one with the single red blip). Shoot the leftover Vagos and the red tank next to the Phoenix parked here. Next go to the middle lot, with the two red blips, and pour gas from a Jerry Can on both (with a stream between). Or you could use a Grenade, but what the hell, save $250 and just burn them.

The gang leader is escaping, take him out

If you planted the Proximity Mine earlier this part will not be an issue. If you decided not to (why I don’t know) run out to the street and spray the gang leader’s windshield Michael Mann style. Sometimes he almost always crashes into a pole making his escape. If that didn’t work (still you got mines dude…) then chase after him in your PV and shoot him from behind the wheel. Once the gang leader is dead the mission is over.

(At Rank 8 you use a DLC assault rifle; Sawn off Shotgun, Marksman Rifle, and a Proximity Mine. Grenades are not unlocked until Rank 15. You can also take a lot of damage at this Rank, especially when climbing that ladder. Bring lots of Snacks and Armor.)

Make a right here when you see the trailers... or at least it's trailers in Free Roam... might be containers in the mission... Yeah, just make a right at this point.

Climb to the top of this platform. You'll take some shots from up here, but can take out all of the Vagos.

No Smoking

Given by: Lamar

Rank Unlocked: 30

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $9,900 (after patch 1.30): $7,430

Weapon(s) recommended: Assault Rifle, Grenades, and Micro SMG/AP Pistol (depending)

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: The Ammunation/Shooting Range in Rancho

Go to the El Burro Heights train yard

Drive around the corner to the train yard. Once you drive through the main gates go to the left. Make a right at the trailers on the right (see first picture).

Steal the trailer

Flank around the Vagos following the tracks you will come to a switch operator’s platform (see second picture). Climb the ladder to the top and equip your assault rifle. You can kill all of the Vagos from up here. Don’t use explosives or you could risk blowing up the trailer. Once all of the bad guys are dead; climb back down and get in the semi truck.

Deliver the trailer to the depot

Drive out of the train yard and follow the GPS route. Enemy vehicles (three at once) won’t attack until you cross the intersection before the Ammunation/Shooting range. Disembark the semi truck and use Grenades or Grenade Launcher on the enemy vehicles. Alternatively you could keep on trucking, at full speed, and crash through. From here you can use the weight of the vehicle to push their’s off the road. You will get hit a few times, but not as bad as taking on several gunmen with no cover. Before you get to the depot take it easy around the nearby turn, you could flip the trailer if you turn too hard.

(At Rank 30 you have everything you need to complete this mission solo. Sans the Grenade Launcher.)

No pics for this mission so here's some product placement...

On Maneuvers

Given by: Lester

Rank Unlocked: 65

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $13,140 (after patch 1.30): $15,330

Weapon(s) recommended: Sticky Bombs or Grenades, sniper rifle, assault rifle, Minigun/RPG/Homing Launcher

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any, one that gives good cover specifically

Best Place To Launch Mission: Beeker’s Garage in Paletto Bay

Go to the army training grounds

From Beeker’s Garage just drive up the hill behind it.

Steal the Annihilator

Equip your Sticky Bombs or Grenades and blow up the two Barracks trucks parked below. Next take cover behind your PV and equip your sniper rifle. Take out the soldiers below, a couple of them don’t even react to the initial attack. Finish those guys off with an assault rifle from closer. There are also two soldiers behind the bus wreckage. Your view is obstructed, by a tree, from up on the hill. So just take them out from here. Once all of the soldiers are dead get in the Annihilator.

Deliver the Annihilator to the airfield

Take off immediately, heading south over Mt. Chiliad. A jet and two Buzzards are on their way to your location to shoot you out of the sky. The jet undoubtedly will get there first, but don’t react like you would in Free-Roam, this is an A.I. not a rival player. As you ascend the mountain the jet will circle you, trying to line up a shot. You can dodge these Missiles, but if you hear a warning beep then he’s coming right at you. (Note: If you're like an expert at air combat with the Annihilator then just ignore the following, how you do the mission from here is entirely up to you.) Once at the top of the mountain land near the wooden observation platform and disembark the Annihilator. Run a short distance away so it doesn’t get hit by any stray Missiles, that is if the jet has time to line up that kind of shot. Equip any anti-aircraft weapon (I used the Minigun) and take it out of the sky before it has time to line up a kill shot. The two Buzzards still approaching from the south are a lesser threat. You’ll be able to see them coming in the distance as you fight the jet. You could try sniping the pilots with your sniper rifle, or just use the Homing Launcher once they get within range to take them quicker. You could also spray them with the Minigun. Once all bogies have been shot down, get back in your Annihilator, and fly to the airfield.

(At Rank 65 you obviously don’t have a Minigun unlocked, but the Homing Launcher is more than capable of taking out the jet if you can line up the shot. It flies slow enough for it too work, but might take a couple shots.)

On The List

Added With The High Life Update

Given by: Martin

Rank Unlocked: 18

Possible Pay (after patch 1.30): $13,360

Weapon(s) recommended: Proximity Mine, sniper rifle, Micro SMG or AP Pistol, and Grenades

Personal Vehicle recommended: Super class or Buzzard Attack Chopper

Best Place To Launch Mission: It always starts you at the Kortz Building in Pacific Bluffs

Take out targets

There’s two ways to doing this mission; on the ground or in a Buzzard. The on-the-ground method is not impossible (even with the 10 minute timer), especially if you have a Super class vehicle (or anything fast you’re comfortable with), and follow the route in this walkthrough (going from north to south). Use Quick GPS to put a waypoint onto the next target after each kill. Of course you could use your Buzzard Attack Chopper to make the mission faster and easier, but you should still go north to south.

Dune Buggy guy in Vinewood Hills: Starting from here on the map (see first picture) follow the dirt road around toward the Observatory. Drop a Proximity Mine on the dirt road, sort of in the center (see second picture). Then keep going past the target, he’ll bolt past you (or crash into you) and drive over the Mine. If you’re in the Buzzard just use a lock-on Rocket.

Billboard guy in Alta: Get out of your car and shoot the target between the billboards. Use a sniper rifle to get a better mark on him. If you’re in a Buzzard use your Machine Gun, in first person view (old or new gen), and spray him.

Motorcycle rider in Pillbox Hill: You can knock this guy off the bike then shoot him, or chase and shoot him, or beep the horn then shoot him? You get the idea. If you’re using the Buzzard he’s slightly tricky to lock-on to, but not impossible. He just keeps driving around the block.

Gang members in Chamberlain Hills: These guys have a couple of guards with them. You can run them over then shoot, or drop a Grenade as you go by. Either way don’t waste time trying to make it dramatic. Just shoot them and keep going. In a Buzzard just spray with the Machine Gun or use a Non-Homing Rocket.

Take out final target

Martin will text you about a target, in a boat, who will spawn at the Marina. The timer will reset to five minutes. When you get to the Marina run down to the dock and steal one of the boats parked here. Chase after the final target using your AP Pistol or Micro SMG. If you can’t catch up to them they will slow down around the Airport. An enemy boat will come to defend them. Don‘t worry about that the mission will be over the moment you kill the final target. If you are in a Buzzard use Homing Rockets. Just make sure you have the right distance and altitude or else they will just explode in the water below the boat.

(Depending on how you want to tackle this mission has a lot to do with this. You could shoot the Billboard target with a Marksman Rifle, but the standard Sniper Rifle has a longer zoom. It’s up to you, but I would say wait for the Sniper Rifle.)

(You can do this mission yourself, you have to rush but it can be done. If you want bring a buddy along. They could take out the two lower targets and you could take out the guys from the north up. Then you both can fight over who will get bragging rights for dealing with the final target.)

Out of Court Settlement

Given by: Martin

Rank Unlocked: 22

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $7,250 (still the same after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: Any Pistol or Micro SMG

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: Los Santos Customs in Burton

Take out the lawyer

From where you spawn drive to the intersection near the Ammunation in Hawick. Block the lawyer’s car and shoot him from behind the wheel.

Pick up the evidence

Get out of your PV and pick up the briefcase of evidence.

Lose the cops

Soon after you get back into your PV you will receive a two-star Wanted Level. Drive into any of the numerous alleys in the area. Also use the Mask trick to remove a star.

Deliver the evidence to Madrazo’s house

Now with the cops off your back drive to Madrazo’s house to finish the mission.

(At Rank 22 you can do this mission no problem. If you can block the lawyer’s car, and are quick on the trigger [errr Bumper] it’s a piece of cake.)

Out of Harmony

Given by: Trevor

Rank Unlocked: 50

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $14,700 (after patch 1.30): $12,600

Weapon(s) recommended: assault rifle, Grenades, Proximity Mines

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: Clothes Store (Suburban) in Sandy Shores (starts you near Cement Works in next-gen)

Go to the cement works

From where you spawn drive up the hill behind the Suburban. Park at the edge (see first picture).

Steal the trailer

You will receive a text message from Trevor and a 6 minute timer. From where you are take cover behind your PV and throw a Grenade on the Lost van down below. It’s far enough away that you won’t blow up the trailer. Shoot the other guys in the area below (see second picture). More will spawn to the North, but don’t sit around to finish them off. They just keep spawning and you don’t have the time. Get in the semi truck and pack it up into the trailer.

Deliver the trailer to the boat

Drive straight ahead and ignore the yellow GPS route. Go cross-country, but carefully. Lost gang members on motorcycles will come after you. For now they are not a problem, just concentrate on not tipping over the trailer or crashing into anything. In fact turn onto the dirt road here (see third picture), then when Sandy Shores Airfield comes onto the mini-map merge onto that. When you get to the road start following the yellow GPS route. You can take out the motorcycles, that come at you head-on, by swerving into them. Avoid crushing them under the wheels of the trailer, they have a tendency to explode because of that. Once you get near the boatyard drive easy down the dirt road, even with angry bikers chasing you go easy. At the end of the road park in the yellow marker.

Protect the shipment

The timer’s gone now; you can relax. Except for the wave of bikers that are about to attack. Set up some Proximity Mines on the hill (see fourth picture) and take cover behind the wrecked van by the road. Use your assault rifle when they get in close. Use Snacks when you get low of health.

Go to the buyer

Once the last Lost gang member falls, go to the guy by the dock to finish the mission.

(At Rank 50, and thanks to DLC packs, you have everything you need to complete this mission Solo.)

(Having a friend come along doesn’t necessarily make it more complicated. They can run interference on the Lost motorcycles while you deliver the trailer.)

There definitely seems to be more enemies around the Trailer in next gen.

Pickup Sticks Removed

Unfortunately Pick Up Sticks, a mission added in the Independance Day Special Update, has been removed from the missions list for unknown reasons. This has been happening a lot lately. I am confident that this mission (despite it being difficult) can be done Solo. When it is added back I will do a walkthrough.

Pier Pressure

Given by: Gerald

Rank Unlocked: 6

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $9,400 (after patch 1.30): $6,890

Weapon(s) recommended: Heavy Pistol

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: Mask Shop in Vespucci Beach

Steal the meth

Drive to the yellow maker. There are two entrances to the tunnel below the pier. It doesn’t really matter which direction you choose. However attacking from the south entrance would require something with more range than a pistol; unless you get in close, firing as you go. Apart from that just shoot every gunman you see then rush in to finish off the last few. Pick up the meth.

Deliver the meth to Gerald’s apartment

Get in your PV and drive to Gerald’s apartment. There is a chance that Lost gang members will come after you on motorcycles, but that’s not always the case. If they do you can easily avoid them.

(You can do this mission Solo at any Rank. It is one of the first ones given, and it’s pretty easy.)

Potshots

Given by: Misc (Trevor related)

Rank Unlocked: 25

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $7,310 (after patch 1.30): $4,880

Weapon(s) recommended: Pistol and shotgun

Personal Vehicle recommended: Sedan or anything four door

Best Place To Launch Mission: Does not matter

Steal the van

From where you spawn get in your PV (you might have to run around the barbed wire fence from here), and drive up the road. Either shoot or run over (then shoot…) the two gang members guarding the bridge. Then quickly park your PV sideways to block the bridge (see second picture). By this point the van should be making a run for it toward your position. Once it crashes into your vehicle take out the driver with a shotgun. Then get in the van.

Deliver the van to Trevor’s trailer

No enemy vehicles will come after you. Just drive the van to Trevor’s and park it in his garage.

(You have everything you need at Rank 25 to do this mission Solo.)

Quarry Quarry

Given by: Lester

Rank Unlocked: 30

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $19,800 (still the same after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: sniper rifle, Grenade Launcher, assault rifle, Proximity Mines or Sticky Bombs, Tear Gas Grenades

Personal Vehicle recommended: Something fast

Best Place To Launch Mission: Convenience Store along the highway between Sandy Shores and the Humane Society

Steal the vans

There’s no particular order to steal these in since you have to take both. Go for the closest one first, take cover behind your PV and take out the gunmen with your assault rifle, be liberal with the Grenades if you choose to use explosives. You don’t want to blow up the van. Once the area is clear; re-heal and get in the van.

Deliver the van to Lester’s warehouse

Follow the GPS route out of the quarry and down the on-ramp to the highway. Some enemy Grangers should follow you down the on-ramp, drop a Proximity Mine or Sticky Bomb behind you, to take out the pursuers. Next use Grenades or Grenade Launcher on any more that respond. Once that’s taken care of get back in the van and take the long journey to Lester’s warehouse. Park in the yellow marker.

Steal the vans

Yep I know, don’t say it. Run out to the road and Request Your Personal Vehicle. I hope you took my advice and brought a fast one. Once you get back to the quarry go after the van parked down n the quarry itself. Drive up to the upper access road (see second picture) and shoot the enemies below with a sniper rifle. Once the majority have been taken out (the ones you can see) toss some Tear Gas down on the red dots out of view. Use your PV to get below quickly and safely. Get in the van.

Deliver the van to Lester’s warehouse

Pretty much the same long drive as last time but without the angry Grangers chasing you down. Stop in the yellow marker to end the mission.

(At Rank 30 you can substitute Grenade Launcher with just thrown Grenades. Everything else is pretty much the same.)

If you don’t like driving back and forth for ultra long distances, bring a friend along. It’s one of those kinds of missions.

Rich Men In Richman

Given by: Simeon

Rank Unlocked: 5

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $12,810 (still the same after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: SMG

Personal Vehicle recommended: Something fast

Best Place To Launch Mission: The Gulf activity marker in Richman

Go to Richman Mansion

Drive to the mansion and park your car out of the way of the front gate. Also equip your SMG.

Hack the keypad

Go up to the keypad on the left end of the gate. Luckily in this mission it’s only half of the hacking process. Select BruteForce.exe and do the minigame.

Repo the cars

Shoot your way up the driveway, taking out any security guards that you have to along the way. This will unfortunately give you a three-star Wanted Level. Get in the Stinger GT.

Lose the cops

Peel out of the mansion grounds and drive toward the underground tunnel here (see first and second pictures). Here you can hide from them well enough to lose them without the mask trick or calling Lester.

Deliver the car to the dealership

Drive back out of the tunnel (going the way you came in) and just follow the yellow GPS route to the dealership. Park in the yellow marker.

Repo the cars

I’m not even going to bother making fun of complaining about repeating objectives Solo. Be use to this by now! Request your Personal Vehicle and drive all the way back to Richman Mansion. Use Quick GPS to make a route if you wish. Once you get back to the mansion steal the Super Diamond.

Lose the cops

You will get an automatic two-star Wanted Level, and I find the Super Diamond to be like a tank (the default one without upgrades anyway), so have Lester take care of the cops this time. OR repeat the hide-in-the-underground-tunnels approach.

Deliver the car to the dealership

Once the cops are off your back park next to the Stinger GT back at the dealership.

(Wait until Rank 21 when you have Lester’s Remove Wanted Level ability. It makes the mission go faster and easier.)

If you’re not a fan of running from the cops bring another pair of hands along. Of course waiting for THEM to lose the cops isn’t any more fun.

Given by: Simeon

Rank Unlocked: 5

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $4,580 (still the same after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: None

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: The Clothing Store in Rockford Hills

Steal the Cabrio

Put a Quick GPS on the Cabrio, or if you started the mission where I suggested just drive down the street to the hotel. The Cabrio will be parked by the main entrance. Get in.

Lose the cops

Once you get in the Cabrio you will receive a two-star Wanted Level. Drive out of the hotel and head for the nearby parking garage (see picture). If you can try to do the mask trick do so. Once you get ahead of any pursuing cruisers. Go up to the top level. The Wanted Level should be flashing at this point so watch the direction of the blue cones. If you think you’re about to be spotted, before your Wanted Level goes down, use the Stunt Jump (see second picture) to escape the roof.

Deliver the Cabrio to the dealership

Use the Stunt Jump to get to street level faster. The dealership is just around the corner from where you land. Stop in the yellow marker to end the mission.

(At Rank 5 this mission is doable Solo. Actually at any Rank you can do this mission Solo if you know how the Wanted Level system works.)

Rank Unlocked: 13

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $7,040 (still the ame after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: Pistol with Suppressor

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: (see first picture)

Steal a Lost van

Drive to the Lost trailer park and stop just outside of it’s grounds. You only have to steal one of the vans, and you can pick and one you want. Facing the entrance to the trailer park go to the van at the far left (see second picture). Sneak around to it by pressing in on the Left Stick (A/X button if you’re playing on next gen, in first person, with the “Standard FPS controls” enabled). Shoot the lone Lost gang member, in the head, then get in the van.

Deliver the van to Trevor’s trailer

The trailer park shouldn’t be on alert. Haul ass out of there and head toward Trevor’s trailer. Lost gangsters on motorcycles will chase after you, but just keep driving. They are not that big of a threat.

(At Rank 13 you can complete this mission Solo. The Suppressor for the basic Pistol is unlocked at Rank 5).

Why You Die So Easily In Rooftop Rumble

Rooftop Rumble

Given by: Martin

Rank Unlocked: 75

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $13,500 (still the same after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: Grenade Launcher or RPG, assault rifle or light machine gun, sniper rifle, Pistol

Personal Vehicle recommended: An SUV that provides good cover

Best Place To Launch Mission: Ammunation/Shooting Range in Pillbox Hill

Go to the parking lot

I should mention that this mission has always been notorious for being the “money maker” mission. Even after patch 1.16 was released. Because of this mission’s popularity they have given it a couple of overhauls. At it’s current version the Professionals appear to use Metalstorm technology disguised as Assault Rifles. The reason I mention this now is because you are near the Ammunation in Pillbox Hill. Stock up on Body Armor then drive to the parking lot.

Take out the Professionals

Park your Personal Vehicle across the street from the parking lot, taking cover behind the backend by the tire. This will provide the maximum cover. Equip a Grenade Launcher, or RPG, and destroy the two Fugitives parked at the entrance to the lot. If this doesn’t kill the first couple of Professionals (sometimes it doesn’t) take them out with an assault rifle or LMG. A Fugitive full of them will appear on the street to the right, you know what to do while you still have your choice of obviously explosive weapon equipped. Re-heal, re-Armor yourself, then take cover across the street by the left-side entrance. Re-equip your Grenade Launcher and blow up the Grangers parked within the lot. Finish off any survivors with your chosen range weapon. Once all of the Professionals in the parking garage are taken care of two Fugitives will appear up the street from the entrance to the parking garage. Equip your sniper rifle and take out the driver of the one that you can see up the street. This will make the passengers disembark.

Steal the documents

Halfway through dealing with the last of the Professionals a green blip will appear with this objective. Either take out the second car or go after the documents directly. No one will chase you if you do. Use a pistol (anything but the AP Pistol) to shoot the driver as you chase after him. Sometimes this car can be very sensitive to bullets so make those shots count (the car could be coded to explode easily?) When the driver is dead the documents will drop. Get out and pick them up.

Deliver the documents to Madrazo’s house

Drive to Madrazo’s house and watch an over used cutscene. This is actually the calmest part of the mission.

(At Rank 75 you have everything you need to do this mission Solo, BUT if you wait 10 more Ranks you can have a Heavy Sniper and a Combat MG with all of the trimmings.)

San Andreas Seoul

Rank Unlocked: 16

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $7,110 (after patch 1.30): $9,980

Weapon(s) recommended: None

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: Clothing Store near Vespucci Beach (Binco)

Steal the tanker

Drive around the corner and get in the truck cab of the tanker. You could shoot the workers with a Pistol or fight them directly with melee, but this will cause the police to come sooner. You can drive away from them without trouble and this will cause a delay before police response.

Lose the cops

You will receive a two-star Wanted Level. Drive away from the gas station. If you did not fire any shots on the workers then there should not be any nearby cruisers. Take this opportunity to do the Accessories trick and remove a star. Keep driving East, avoiding the blue vision cones. Remember you can leave the tanker and hide on foot too.

Deliver the tanker to the depot

Once you get rid of the cops the only challenge now is not blowing up the tanker as you run over things to kill the boredom of a long haul. Just drive to the depot and stop in the yellow marker.

(You could complete this mission Solo at Rank 0 if you had to. I’m not saying it’s easy I’m just… yeah that’s pretty much what I’m saying.)

Rank Unlocked: 60

Possible Pay (after patch 1.16): $15,120 (still the same after patch 1.30)

Weapon(s) recommended: assault rifle, Grenades

Personal Vehicle recommended: Any

Best Place To Launch Mission: Observatory (see first picture)

Steal the trailer

Get in your PV and set a Quick GPS waypoint on the trailer. As you drive there make note of the dirst road that is not marked along the route (see second picture). Remember this road for later, and go easy around it. Once you get to the top of the hill, take cover behind the construction office unit (see third picture). Kill the initial Lost gang members here, plus any that respond. Go into the yard along the left (South) side taking cover as you go. The Lost will also be in cover AND have shotguns. Keep your distance and pick them off one-by-one. Once the area’s clear re-heal and get in the truck cab of the trailer.

Deliver the trailer to the gas station

You would think that the hard part is over. It typically would be if the trailer didn’t seem like it was made out of paper. If you so much as crash too hard into something the mission fails. As you follow the GPS route make use of that dirt road from earlier. It’s a little tight, but you can negotiate it at a steady speed. Just watch out for the telephone pole at the end, once you get to asphalt. That thing can wreck the mission. After that road follow the GPS route to the letter. You should concentrate more on taking on the Lost. Like in “Out of Harmony” ram oncoming Lost motorcycles but DON’T DRIVE OVER THEM. The trailer’s wheels will ignite the gas tank and blow up. No more than three motorcycles will pursue you at once, and the trailer is essentially bullet proof. Apart from taking out Lost focus on not jack-knifing, crashing into anything, or blowing up while making the long drive to the gas station.

(At Rank 60 you can complete this mission Solo. The Special Carbine comes in handy… then again when does it NOT?)

This mission can be a little testy. For example I had to play it about eight times before I wrote this walkthrough. Strange right? You wouldn’t think this mission can be THAT complicated, but it can be. Bring a friend along if you want someone to run interference on the Lost while you work on not wrecking the fragile trailer.
