Halo 6 release date
Halo 6 release date isn't too far off
When will Halo 6 be released?
With the upcoming release of Halo 5: Guardians in sight for Fall of 2015, the question everyone's starting to wonder is when will they churn out a sixth Halo release date.
With Microsoft's change from Bungie over to 343 Industries before Halo 4, Microsoft set themselves up to make a few more Halo games at the very least. Since Halo 4, it's been three years before Halo 5: Guardians will be released. Chances are that Halo 6 will follow a similar route.
On the other hand, now that Microsoft doesn't have any more room for more "Halo anniversary" games, it might drastically speed up the production of a Halo 6 release date. The best estimate for Halo 6 would be the holiday season of 2017, maybe even as early as fall of 2017.
Sadly the Halo 6 release date everyone wants is still two years off. It's unclear if this will truly be the release date of Halo 6, but everyone can surely hope. If 343 industries doesn't manage to finish up a Halo 6 game by 2017, there's an extremely good chance the game will be released fall-winter of 2018 instead. If there's to be a release date for Halo 6, it's definitely before the end of 2018.
Halo 5: Guardians is set for Fall 2015, pre-order now!
Halo 5: Guardians release date
While Halo 6 is far off, the Halo 5: Guardians release date is not. This game is slated to come out in the Fall of 2015. Exclusively for the Xbox One, Halo 5: Guardians plot hasn't entirely been revealed yet. The most we know is that the master chief is on some desert world fighting megalithic machines again, and Cortana's nowhere to be found, at least not yet.
Halo 5: Guardians is set to be released on a brand new game engine, hopefully one with a lot of features built from scratch, like Halo 2. This change in game engine has fans excited to see just how the Halo 5 multi-player and single-player fighting mechanics will work. Hopefully 343 Industries will release Halo 5 with some Xbox One exclusive bells and whistles with their new Halo game engine.

News on Halo 6
Halo 6 has very little information to report on so far. There are rumors that 343 intends to kill off the master chief by the end of the sixth Halo game, but this is far from confirmed.
Neither Microsoft or 343 Industries has said a single word about Halo 6 just yet, nothing has been announced at any E3, and sadly nothing about Halo 6 will probably be released at E3 until the E3 2016. The most likely scenario is that 343 Industries and Microsoft will show of the new Halo 5: Guardians game at E3 2015, not the upcoming Halo 6 game, if there is to be one.
It would feel like too much too fast if 343 announced a Halo 6 at the E3 before Halo 5: Guardians. If anything is heard about Halo 6 at E3 2016, it could be one of two different scenarios.
The first scenario is that they'll have light teasers for Halo 6 at E3 2016, and then more at E3 2017. In this scenario a Halo 6 release date of Winter 2017 would begin to seem very likely. If nothings said of Halo 6 during E3 2016, then there's a good chance it won't be released until sometime 2018. The latter scenario is depressing, but not necessarily likely.

No room for more anniversary games
While Halo 4 and Halo 5 were 3 years apart, that doesn't mean that a Halo 6 release date has to come three years after this upcoming Halo 5 release date. The main reason it took so long from one game to the next is because 343 Industries also popped out the Master Chief Collection in fall of 2014. This game has Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4 on one single disk, and even early access to the Halo 5 multi-player beta which starts December 29th, 2014.
After this Anniversary game, 343 Industries has nothing left to do but move on to new Halo games. If they choose to make a sixth Halo game, it will likely come out in 2017. Hopefully 343 doesn't get any more game to make under their belts so Halo fans across the world can see a cool new Halo game come out in time for the holiday season of 2017.
