How Many Games Does the Persona Franchise Actually Have?

Updated on September 29, 2015

There's More Than 5 Persona Games Out?

With the delay of the latest game until this next summer, Atlus's fandom awaits for Persona 5. This will give the fans time to replay each of the games before the release of the next addition to the series.

Fun fact for anyone who has never played a Persona game: You do not have to play any of them in order, but there are small nods in the games showing that they are acknowledging each other.

Revelations: Persona

Starting 1996, this game has had about four releases in Japan alone, and finally released in North America in 2003.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin

This game was released for the Playstation in Japan in 1999. It was re-released in 2011 and licensed in North America, with some minor edits.

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment

There is in fact two pieces of the Persona 2 game.

Persona 3

This game was released in 2006 and they then made the updated version, "Persona 3 FES" in 2007 with "The Answer" epilogue.

Persona 4

The fourth official part of the series was released in 2008.

Persona 3 Portable

They made another remake in 2009 just for the PSP, with a female protagonist route.

Persona 4 Arena

This game was originally released in arcades at the beginning of 2012, but then was released to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 later that year.

Persona 4 Golden

The updated version of Persona 4, it is out only for vita. There's more depth to a lot of the characters now as it starts to show. It released the summer of 2012.

The sequel to the spin-off of the Persona 4 series... That has grown-up Persona 3 characters.

Persona Q

This one came out the summer of 2014 (in Japan) it is a crossover of Persona 4 characters and Persona 3 characters.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night

Due to popular demand, Persona 4 got another spin-off that was merged with a popular rhyme game. This game is exclusively for the PSvita, and was released in the summer of 2015.

Persona 5

This game has been delayed for two years and is possibly going to be released in the summer of 2016.

Overall

If we went by the actual number of games on this list. Persona 5 should be Persona 13 (Not counting the re-releases of the Persona 1 and Persona 2 games).

But we didn't even include the long list of mobile games along with it.

Here's the wiki list with the mobile games, animation adaptions AND MORE, if you're curious.
