Who am I?

Hey everyone, you must be curious to know what Blue & Orange Essence is in League Of Legends. Fear not because I will tell you how and what are their uses. Not only that but I will also inform you about other things like Hextech Crafting, Shards and more.

I am what they call me in League Of Legends, Fl1pz. I have been playing League Of Legends since Season 4 and I am still playing it today. I am currently sitting in the Platinum V rank. I really enjoy playing League Of Legends because of the hilarious community and because it is so competitive.

My favorite champions to play would be Yasuo, RIven, Twitch and Lucian. I absolutely adore these champions. Other than just playing League Of Legends, I also create League content on my YouTube channel and I also have a Twitter. Thank you for reading and have an amazing day!

Putting everything aside, you might be interested in my "How To Boost FPS Greatly" guide for League Of Legends. If you have trouble with your FPS, my guide will no doubt get your frames back into shape!

What is Hextech Crafting?

Before talking about Blue & Orange essences in League Of Legends, let us first talk about the Hextech Crafting System. The Hextech Crafting System enables players to gain free champions and champion skins, upon unlocking Hextech Chests with Hextech Keys.

After unlocking a Hextech Chest you can either get a Champion Shard, Champion Skin Shard, Blue or Orange essence, Ward Skin, or a Gemstone. A Gemstone can be exchanged to gain a free chest with a key. Or if you gather 10 Gemstones, you will be able to obtain Soulstealer Vayne or Hextech Annie. Both of which are exclusive skins. Additionally, 5 Gemstones, you will be able to gain a Hextech Trinket Skin.

How To Get Blue Essence?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there are only two methods on getting Blue Essence. The first method is by unlocking Hextech Chests, where you have a chance on getting Blue Essence. The second method is by exchanging Champion Shards for huge amounts of Blue Essence.

The fastest way to gain lots of Blue Essences is to play many, many and many games. Once you earn atleast 1700IP, you can buy a Champion Mystery Shard in the League Of Legends Shop. Upon activating the Shard, a random Champion Shard will appear and you will be able to disenchant the Shard for Blue Essence.

How To Get Orange Essence?

Unlike Blue Essence, there are three methods on how to obtain Orange Essence. The first method is by unlocking Hextech Chests with Hextech Keys and having a chance on getting Orange Essence. The second method is by disenchanting Champion Skin Shards.

Unfortunately, you cannot buy Champion Skin Shards like the Champion Shards. Sadly, the only way you can get Champion Skin Shards is by Hextech Chests. The third method is by disenchanting Ward Skins. However, the amount of Orange Essence you get from disenchanting Ward Skins does not amount to much.

Why Am I Getting The Same Content From Chests?

The Hextech Chests that you unlock with Hextech Keys are all random and can have anything inside them. The bad news may be that you already have what is in the Hextech Chest. However, the good news is that you can disenchant the box so you earn Orange Essence or Blue Essence. In addition to that, you are able to turn three Champion Shards into a random permanent Champion. So, it is not that bad right?

Behavior

If you have been recently punished for any kind of reason, you will not be able to earn Hextech Keys or Hextech Chests from playing games for awhile. The duration of time depends on how bad your punishment is or if you are having signs of reform. Moreover, after your punishment is over you will enter something called a "reform period" where you still will not be able to earn Hextech Chests or Hextech Keys. To end the reform period, you must constantly show signs of sportsmanship. The reform period will end depending on your behavior.

No Hextech Key Fragments?

Hextech Key Fragments, just like Hextech Chests drop randomly, but in a curve. According to Riot, with each fragment you earn, the chance to earn your next one goes down slightly. This number resets roughly every thirty days after you earn your first Hextech Key Fragment.

Champion Shards

Upon opening Hextech Chests with Hextech Keys, you have a chance of getting a Champion Shard of any champion. It does not matter if you already own the Champion. With Champion Shards, you can do many things with it. You can upgrade the certain Champion Shard to unlock that Champion permanently with the right Essence. You can activate the Champion Shard to temporarily be able to use it for 7 days. You will not be able to to the Champion Shard afterwards. You can also reroll three Champion Shards to unlock a random permanent Champion to add to your collection. Lastly, you can disenchant the Champion Shards for Essence. The amount of Essence depends on how much the Champion costs with RP.

Champion Skin Shards

Upon opening Hextech Chests with Hextech Keys you are able to find Champion Skin Shards. Champion Skin Shards are similar to Champion Shards because you can also rent the Champion Skin Shard. You are also able to activate the Champion Skin Shard with the right amount of Essence (ie. Blue Essence, Orange Essence.) However, you must have the Champion of that Champion Skin Shard to be able to rent or activate the Champion Skin Shard.

How To Get Hextech Keys

The only free way to unlock Hextech Chests would be with Hextech Keys. Unless you have RP because you are able to buy them in the League Of Legends shop. But before getting a Hextech Key, you must atleast have three Key Fragments.

Only after forging three Key Fragments would you be able to create one Hextech Key. How do you obtain Key Fragments? The only way you can earn Key Fragments is by playing matchmade games. Key Fragments drop randomly with every game. Playing with friends makes Key Fragments drop more frequently.

How To Get Hextech Chests?

The only free method on gaining Hextech Chests is by achieving a mastery rank of S- or above when playing games. Unless you have RP, you can buy Hextech Chests in the League Of Legends shop. After earning a Hextech Chest from a Champion that achives an S rank, you will not be able to gain another Hextech Chest with that same Champion until the season ends.

If somebody in your group earns an S rank and receives a Hextech Chest, everyone in your premade group would receive a Chest also! However, you will not be able to earn another Chest with that same Champion if that occurs. Moving along, you are only able to earn Hextech Chests with Champions you own. This means if you play a rented Champion, or an unowned Champion on the free rotation. You will not gain the Chest. But if someone in your premade group earns an S, but does not own the Champion. If you own the Champion you are playing, you still gain a Hextech Chest.

Conclusion

Hello everyone, thank you so much for reading this Hub and I strongly suggest you read my other Hubs. I have Hubs that can definitely help you become a better League Of Legends player as a whole. Anyways, thank you so much once again and I hope you give my other Hubs a chance!
