Fun Crafts: Sticky-Note Ninja Star

Updated on August 21, 2012

You Can Use An Assortment Of Colors

You're Going To Need Sticky Notes

The first thing you want to do is gather up some sticky notes. For one ninja star, you will only need 8 sticky notes. The color choice is completely up yo you! I love using different colors instead of that boring yellow!

Fold The Sticky Note In Half

Your second step will be to fold the sticky note with the sticky side out. This is shown in the picture to the right. Do not fold the sticky side inward. Fold it so that you can see it.

Fold Your Sticky Note's Corners

The third step is also quite simple. Unfold your sticky note. Then, fold in your top corners of the sticky note so that they lline up with the crease. The corners should be covering the sticky part, and they should meet in the middle.

The top photo is with one corner folded. The bottom photo is what your product should look like so far.

Folding The Corners Into The Crease

This part can get a little tricky. Fold the corners that you have made into the crease line. You want to fold the corners that you made by folding down the top corner. It is hard to explain so bear with me. You will want to do this to both sides. If anything is hard to understand in this "How-To" please tell me in the comments.

The top hpoto shows wehere you fold the corner in to the crease and then crease it. The bottom photo shows what you should have on both sides when you are done.

Make Your New Creases Fold The Other Way

Your going to want to take your new diagonal creases and fold them the other way. So you want to flip the way they are folded right now. The picture will show what I mean.

The top picture shows one side folded the other way. The bottom picture shows both creases folded the other way and what your product should look like. You're almost there don't give up now! I know it can be a little tricky, but you will get the hang of it!

Finishing The Folds

You are at your final step (Sort-of). You now want to fold your sticky note inwards to create a parallelogram or kite type of shape.

The first photo shows how you should be folding the sticky note inwards. The second photo is when you have completely folded the sticky note. And the third photo is your finished product.

Finishing Your Parallelograms

There should now be Eight of these little parallelograms! Next, you will be interlocking them!

Interlocking The Sticky Notes

Please follow the photos and their captions to interlock the stickynotes together. Once you are done with the first one, interlock your remaining 5 sticky notes left. Do not interlock the last one as I will show you how to do that below.

This is what you should have after locking the reamining sticky notes excluding the last one.

For the last one, you are going to have to wrestle it into two places. Get the pointy part into the open end, and get the open end into the other pinty part.

Remember, when folding the corners in for the last one, fold them before your other sticky note. Do not fold them over the other sticky note.
