How To Play PS1 Games on Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
The Joys of Gaming
One of the biggest reasons I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was to play games. Other reasons included using it as an e-reader, using it in place of my laptop for assignments, and for watching videos and films.
ePSXe for Android
You do not need to have your tablet rooted for this to work. A rooted tablet will work, but to play PS1 games on your tab, you don't need to root it.
The app you will need is called ePSXe for Android and is available from Google Play. This is a paid application and as currencies differ in all countries, please check the cost locally. In New Zealand, this app costs $4.67 [correct at time of publishing]. At first I thought this was a bit much, but after playing around on it, I couldn't think of a better way to spend $5 and enjoy all my old classic PS1 games.
Okay, now what?
Now that you have ePSXe for Android installed on your tablet, you will need a BIOS file. For copyright reasons, I won't attach a link to a site where you can find one, but you could use a search engine to find the SCPH1001. Once you have this, place it into the BIOS section of ePSXe for Android. After this, you can load your games (you should own these games if you play them) into a folder on your tab and select the game to play.
There's really nothing to it! This is an inexpensive way to play all your old classics on your Tablet. This guide could also be used to play PS1 games on your Samsung Galaxy S3.
