Homemade Spa Treatments ~
Making your own spa treatments to offer your guests is an excellent way of introducing them into the world of natural, chemical free skin care ingredients.
It is a budget friendly and serious fun way of using yummy ingredients easily found at home or locally and will cost a fraction of the price of store bought spa products.
You will be amazed at the amount of homemade beauty treats that can be made and they don’t have to take long.
You could make them up in advance and have them ready for your guests or for a fun aspect, get them to make up a batch under your direction!
Skin cleansers, facial scrubs, face masks, foot exfoliator creams, body cream and hot oil treatments for the hands are just some of the gorgeous pampering treats you can whip up in a flash!
I mean . . . imagine having a dish of ripe on the vine tomatoes and a bowl of sugar on a table for the girls with the introduction “this is your facial scrub girls” or have a bottle of Olive Oil on the table and ask them to apply a few dots to the face as their moisturizer!
These are a few of the examples you can use for your spa showcasing everyday ingredients that ARE wonderful skin care products.
Here is the easy to make sugar and tomato face scrub recipe and a few other face scrub suggestions that are easy to make and cover a range of skin types. Banana face scrub, Lip scrub, Papaya and Pumpkin exfoliating mask and Exfoliating foot scrub recipe.
You could plan what treatments you want to make and bear in mind if you want to offer a pedicure or any foot treatments you really need to have enough basins big enough for both feet preferably to start with a relaxing foot soak.
Hand treatments such as mini manicures, hand scrubs, hot oil and massage are all easily done and ideal for the girls to do on each other.
The first thing you need to do is plan on who you are inviting, where you are hosting it and the date.

Invitations for The Spa ~
I think it would be nice to formally send your guests an invite rather than a text message or phone call.
Even a funky word document sent in an email with some clip art and fancy font would be a budget friendly way if you did not want to buy or make invites to post.
I have made up a few funny poems in way of an invitation to different things so if you are found of some lyrical prose why not make up a fun poem as your spa invitation for the girls?
Please Note:
Allergies are something to be aware of so I would suggest deciding on your treatments and list the ingredients in your invitation on a separate sheet.
Many women have sensitive skins or allergies to ingredients and the skin will absorb these in the same way as when we ingest them.
Whether you choose handmade, hand delivered, professionally printed or emailed you have a world full of choices available for your spa party invitations.
Try to choose something that keeps in with your theme or color scheme and your friends are sure to be impressed with this 5 star luxury treatment.

Guest List ~
For a girls’ night in type spa party with your friends, keep the guest list to a manageable amount.
The more guests equals more space needed, more products, and more refreshments and so on . . . . I have done spa nights for 4-6 friend’s maximum but no more as space was limited and the more bodies the more cost.
If you are planning on each guest applying a treatment on another guest, make sure to have an even number of girls.
Girlie Spa Gift ~
Giving your guests a little homemade product to take home is a nice touch and does not have to be for large groups as a party favor or goody bag item.
A lip balm such as fruit lip balm or even pumpkin spice lip gloss or lip balm is easy to make at home and does not cost the earth to produce. A lip gloss such as a layered lip gloss could be a fun item to make at the spa night or as a gift try citrus lip gloss or candy flavor lip gloss.
If you want a choice or have a real blush fan invited why not whip up a cool creme blush as a little memento and include the recipe so it may be repeated.

Spa Theme ~
You could decide on a theme to your evening.
Be inspired through the time of the year, seasons, holidays, a movie, your last visit abroad, an occasion or whatever takes your fancy. Here is an example -
Tropical Theme –
- Think Hawaii, sunsets and palm trees.
- Tropical fruits such as papaya, mango, banana, Ugli fruit, coconut, rambutan and pineapple may be used as face and body products and used in your healthy nibbles or finger food.
- Make spa treatments using tropical flavors and scents.
- Serve fruit punches, juices, smoothies or a Pina Colada cocktail with funky straws.
- Have some tropical music playing and even use tropical spices, essential oils and fruits in homemade air fresheners.
- Buy or make some tropical decorations, mood enhancers or candles.
- Scatter rose petals or place heads of flowers in bowels of water.
Atmosphere ~
Whatever type of evening you want to create your ultimate goal is one of relaxation.
Subtle fragrance in oil burners, candles (safely) and homemade potpourri may be used around the main room, hall and rooms that will be used, which are not overpowering.
Lavender, chamomile, sandalwood, vanilla and rose are a few popular scents for spas.
If you grow lavender why not make a lavender oil in advance and dry lavender to put around the venue in potpourri or in flower displays.

Refreshments ~
As it is a spa party the general underlying theme should mean a healthy, nutritious or detox zone.
Cucumber spa water is a MUST to have chilling in the fridge and can be made up in advance and is great to keep for everyday use or dinner parties too.
Here are some of my personal favorites that are perfect for a girls spa party where the emphasis is on natural, healthy, relaxing and therapeutic benefits.
