Kristian has been playing games all of his life and insists he will never grow out of it! His dream is to one day play with a pro gamer.

This Idle Heroes guide summarises the ways that you can ensure that you are playing and progressing as quickly and efficiently as possible. It covers how to get stronger Idle Heroes heroes quicker, get rare gear and power up your heroes without spending a penny!

It explores how often you should be farming the campaign, fighting in the arena and what is the best strategy for progressing faster in Idle Heroes!

Before getting onto the Idle Heroes guide, here is some background information on the game.

Idle Heroes is a mobile game released by Idle Games. It is an RPG fantasy mobile game, with turn based combat. It is currently available for both Android and iOS.

It currently has up to 5 million downloads and a fairly strong 4.5 star rating on the Play Store.

Fundamentally, there are many heroes that you can use to form a team. You then try your team against other teams in a turn based combat system (either AI or PvP). The game features different way to increase your heroes powers and thus progress through the game faster. It isn't just an idle clicker or cookie clicker.

As suggested in the name, the game has an idle theme to it; whereby player will accumulate resources to improve their heroes over time without any input by the player.

Starting Out

In the first instance, if you are a new player, the best advice would be to try and get the most powerful heroes before focusing on anything else.

The gear, guild tech etc is important but having a good team of heroes is the foundation of which you can build upon using the steps below.

Hero Composition Bonus

If you have a composition of heroes then you can access some really good bonuses.

For example, if you have heroes all from one faction then you can get 10% bonus in multiple areas which is huge.

From experience, I would always favour better heroes over keeping a composition together. This being said, it is always good to aim for a balanced composition that utilises these bonuses if you can.

Types Of Resources

There are a few different types of resources available in the game that do different things. It is important to understand what they are and how to get them in order to be more efficient and level faster in Idle Heroes. There is a quick summary of where each resource comes from and what they can be used for at the bottom of this Idle Heroes Guide. It is important to understand that before the guide gets going, as to level faster you need to be farming each of the activities as often as possible.

Farming The Campaign

The player level is important for many reasons. As you level up you unlock access to different areas and parts of the game which will accelerate your growth. Therefore it is important, if you want to level up your heroes faster, that you gain access to these areas (Brave Trial, Tower of Oblivion etc).

The best way to maximise your experience points per hour (exp/hr) is to push on in the campaign as far as you can. As a rule of thumb (in most cases) you will want to be auto-battling the most advanced level in the campaign.

While auto battling you will gain experience points, spirit and coins that you can collect when you log back in.

Note that the maximum it will hold is up to 8 hours worth of resources. Therefore if you want to be most efficient you should log in every 8 hours to collect.

The campaign idle auto battling is the best way to get spirit, coins and experience which are the most important resources for powering up your hero. If the auto battling goes over the 8 hours, no further resources will be collected and will be lost.

Therefore, in summary, if you want to get your heroes stronger as fast as possible be sure to be auto battling the latest level available in the campaign and collect your resources every 8 hours.

Daily Quests

The daily quests give a lot of resources that are difficult to find otherwise, in particular - Gems.

For doing a standard rotation of actions (collecting resources from the campaign, collecting free gold etc) you get a handsome reward. Therefore it is absolutely critical that you complete the daily quest everyday so that you don't lose out on these free, rare resources!

This resets everyday so be sure to come back at least once per day to do these quests. You will also be gaining from the actual act of completing the tasks (e.g. spinning the Casino wheel) so there really isn't any reason that you shouldn't do this as often as possible.

Another big part in ensuring you a growing as fast as possible is to take part in as many of the events as possible.

At the moment, there is an event for battling in the area, with the reward being 2100 gems, 5 artefacts and a free 5 star hero. It is worth mentioning that this is a weekly task that is achievable without spending any real world money.

It is really important that you make the most of these tasks as it really will make your stronger and power up your heroes.

Hero Summoning

Always do basic summons as often as possible.

Although you will mostly get lower tier champions, it is possible to get 5 star heroes from these!

Altar - Disassembling Heroes

Don't be afraid to disassemble heroes at the altar. Generally you will want to get rid of all your 1 and 2 star heroes as a rule of thumb, but there are many occasions where it is correct to get rid of 4 star heroes that you don't play to ever use.

The benefit is the soul stone rewards that you get. These can go into purchasing 5 star heroes that you really do want as fast as possible.

As you progress and get better heroes you will disassemble higher rated heroes, but for starting out the advice above stands.

4 and 5 Star Heroes

Your aim in the early game should be to collect 4 and 5 star heroes. These have a higher level cap and therefore will take your further into the game. Don't worry about the Creation Circle too much early on in your progression as you do need a quantity of 4 and 5 star heroes to even consider this.

You will hit the 3 star level caps faster than you think, so always take the opportunity to summon heroes or buy them through the various currencies in the game.

Always review the options in the marketplace.

Most of the time you can find things cheaper here than you would normally pay for them so it is well worth the effort. Most times you will be able to find a heroic scroll here for 150 gems (250 gems if you do it directly).

If you are regularly completing the quests and farming the campaign then you should easily have enough here to make these savings worthwhile.

There's a video below that discusses Gem management.

Friends - Heart Farming

This aspect of the game seems to be more hidden than the more obvious areas, but ensuring you have a full friends list and are part of a guild is really important and can help you level faster.

Currently the friends cap is 30, so your best bet is to just add lots of people randomly. Sounds odd, but the more friends that are on your list the more "hearts" you can claim. These hearts can be used to summon heroes, so you want to maximise the amount of hearts you claim.

Just putting "add me" in the chat and adding as many people as you can seems to work just find. The aim here isn't to make friends but just farm hearts from them.

This also gives you the possibility of the "boss marauders". These are powerful bosses that take many attempts to kill. If you find one (accessible through the friends menu) your friends list can help you bring it down and you get resources for doing it.

You can also join them to help them kill their bosses. This is much like the guild raids.

Be sure to farm hearts from people regularly to maximise your efficiency in leveling up.

Guild Farming

It is really good for your progression to join a guild. There are guild coins which can be earned through your interactions within the guild which can buy you powerful heroes. regular involvement in guild tasks can be really helpful and add up over time.

My advice with the guild tech, is to ignore it for a long time. It is far more important that you get more powerful heroes (5 stars+) than invest anything in the guild tech tree!

Routine and Regular

This most important tip in this Idle Heroes Guide is that you are consistent and regular.

Spending a little time each day to run through a regular routine will add up much quicker than you think. The most efficient use of your time would be to log on 2-3 times a day to ensure that you are farming the campaign correctly and using any time based resources, such as stamina in the friends menu.

This Idle Heroes Guide is based around consistence. Overall you want to make sure that you are regularly accessing each area of the game as often as possible to be efficient.

If you follow through on this, over time you will build up a great team of stronger heroes. Remember that Rome wasn't built in a day, there is no overnight in this game so don't lose faith and keep at it!

If you are after more information on how to build the perfect team, please read the below article for guidance:

You forgot to put "Beginner's" in front of the title. Solid article, but a complete waste of my time.
