I read some reviews online about some lag with the camera picking up your movements and translating it on screen. I would say that there is some lag but it is quite miniscule. You would not even notice it while playing a game. Another thing you need to be aware of is the amount of space needed in the gaming area. I live in a small apartment but I was still able to use the Kinect. However, I would imagine it would be better if the space was larger. All in all, I really like the Kinect and I think as more games come out, it will get better.

No doubt that you have already played the Wii and probably enjoyed it as much as I have. Immersing yourself in the virtual environment is a pretty cool experience. I thought the Wii was the best in that. However, the Kinect for Xbox 360 just came out and it looked so much better than the Wii. From the commercials, it seems like you do not have to use a controller. A camera will take in all your body moments and translate that to movements in the game. When the Kinect was released I immediately when online to Amazon and purchased it.

After using it for a couple of days, I can say that I am truly impressed. This gaming system is heads above the Wii. It is pretty easy to use and is quite intuitive. There are no controllers involved. To make a selection, you would just hold your hand over the icon and it will automatically select after a few seconds. Everything is done by hand gestures and movements of your body.

I tried out Kinect Adventures which came with the package. The games are fairly basic which allows you to get familiar with how to use the Kinect. The game that I liked the most was the River Adventure where you are in a raft and navigating it through obstacles. You have to do a lot of jumping and moving side to side. It was definitely a great workout. By the end of the game, I was sweating profusely.
