LEGO The Lone Ranger Building Set List

The Lone Ranger theme is based on the 2013 Disney Lone Ranger movie. The film has Tonto telling the unknown story of how lawyer John Reid became the legendary Lone Ranger. Jerry Bruckheimer believes his film will be rediscovered in the future and considered a masterpiece. LEGO and Disney decided the critically panned film that cost over $215,000,00, opened with less than $30,000,000 and made less than $90,000,000 domestically was a failure. Disney scrapped any plans for a sequel and LEGO cancelled the theme.

Cavalry Builder’s Set

Item #: 79106

Year: 2013

Ages: 6-14

Pieces: 69

Minifigures:

  1. Lone Ranger

  2. Navarro Riflemen (3)

This building set was all about the minifigures. It allowed collectors to build up their generic army of villains for the Lone Ranger to fight. The wall stands a little over 1" tall and 4" wide. It is clearly used to give the illusion of a larger perimeter. To protect the camp, the cavalry soldiers have a canon that can be moved from place to place on its wheels. The set comes with lots of accessories to decorate your scene. The campfire, duffel bag, backpacks, telescope, frying pan, turkey leg, flag and weapons all help add detail.

Colby City Showdown

Item #: 79109

Year: 2013

Ages: 8-14

Pieces: 587

Minifigures:

  1. Lone Ranger

  2. Tonto

  3. Frank

  4. Ray

  5. Dan Reid

For people who saw the film, this set's story might be confusing. In the movie, John Reid did not become the Lone Ranger until after his brother Dan died and it was the Lone Ranger and Tonto who robbed the bank. However, the set does help create the main town in the movie.

The bank stands over 5" tall, 6" wide and 3" deep. It has a working door and a vault to rob. The sheriff's office is similar in size to the bank. It also has a functional door, but the wall by the prison cell "explodes" to break the bandits out of jail. A cannon on the roof can protect the bank and sheriff's office. There is a small cart to carry supplies around town.

Comanche Camp

Item #: 79107

Year: 2013

Ages: 7-14

Pieces: 161

Minifigures:

  1. Lone Ranger

  2. Tonto

  3. Red Knee

This building set contains lots of small models to represent the Comanche camp. This is where Tonto's backstory is revealed to the audience and the Lone Ranger and Tonto find themselves buried up to their heads.

The teepee measures over 6" high, 3" wide and 4" deep. Minifigures can go through the teepee's entrance flap, but the canopy can be completely remove, to allow easier access to play with the character. Once inside, they sit around the campfire. Since burying mini figures into the floor would be too destructive, LEGO used a small rocky mound that launches the scorpions into the air. The set also includes a canoe to go fishing and a weapons rack to store the revolvers, tomahawk, spear, bow and quiver.

Constitution Train Chase

Item #: 79111

Year: 2013

Ages: 8-14

Pieces: 699

Minifigures:

  1. Lone Ranger

  2. Tonto

  3. Rebecca Reid

  4. Butch Cavendish

  5. Danny Reid

  6. Latham Cole

  7. Captain J. Fuller

LEGO used to be known for their train sets and The Lone Ranger movie heavily used the end train sequence in their advertising, so it makes sense that this would be the largest set in the series. You'll need a lot of space to set up the trains circular track.

The train consists of three cars and an engine that connect using magnets. The engine pulling the cars is given a lot of details in its appearance, but it's the cars that have the interactive playing features. Minifigures can wait and ambush their opponent, by hiding in the secret compartment in the coal car. The prison wagon offers lots of escape options; with a sliding side door, opening roof and an exploding back. A flatbed car is transporting a large Gatling gun. Turning the handle of the gun will rotate it in the signature spinning firing motion. The water tower was designed to topple over, fall apart and spill water over the tracks and train.

The silver mine offers a large model with lots of interactive features, to create your own epic battle sequence. The rocky mine stands over 9" tall, 10" wide and 9" deep. A secret door on the side is made to look like a waterfall. A rotating crane at the top has a winch to lower and raise a bucket. Part of the mine can explode, causing rocks to fall. There is also the ability to launch boulders and dynamite at a target. A trap door leads to a chute, to quickly move down the mine. Stagecoach Escape

Item #: 79108

Year: 2013

Ages: 7-14

Pieces: 279

Minifigures:

  1. Lone Ranger

  2. Tonto

  3. Jesus

  4. Barret

  5. Red Harrington

LEGO came up with the idea for this set on their own and did not base it on any particular scene from the movie, because Red Harrington didn't own a stagecoach. However, the filmmakers liked the concept of the safe on top of the stagecoach and incorporated it into the film. LEGO made the mistake of accidentally labeling the Kyle minifigure as Barret on the box.

The stagecoach has an opening and closing side door to allow minifigures in or out. The roof opens to make it easier to play with the characters inside. The baggage in the upper rear section of the coach can be launched at the bandits chasing after them. For more speed, the horses pulling the stagecoach can be detached and ridden separately.
