One of the most memerable gift from my daughters first birthday is hands down the LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal Set. To this day you will still find the animal halves up on our fridge holding up pictures of family and friends.

Buy The LeapFrog Animal Farm Magnetic Animal Set

This magnetic learning toy comes with 11 pieces. The largest pieces, the barn magnet easily attaches to the fridge and you can trust it won't fall off. This is the playcenter part of the LeapFrog Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal Set. On it you will find Farmer Tad on the top which when he is pushed will play 5 different tunes on his banjo. The real fun is with the bright and thick approximently 1 1/2 inch square animal pieces. Five different animals all with two pieces each, a front and a back. There is a purple cow, yellow duck, blue sheep, pink pig, and a orange horse.. Not only do these animal pieces attach magnetically to the barn, but also to the fridge for an easy way to keep the fun all together.

This is great for older babies and young toddlers. Great for mom and dad because at any time your toddler is interested in playing with it just send them to the fridge. No need to dig out pieces from some container, or search the toy box, its always ready for them on the fridge. This doesn't account for the pieces purposely removed and placed around the house and found in such locations as the back of the couch, in the cupboards and underneath the refrigerator

How it Works

There are two ways your toddler can play. The animals are magnetic and fit perfectly into the front of the barn. Put the front and back of the pink pig together and make a match. You will hear the pink oink and a "congratulations, you made a match".. This is followed by a short fact about the pig, or whatever animal you have placed together.

Whats more fun though is to make a incorrect match. Place the front of the duck and the back of the horse and what do you find.. the sounds of both accompanied by a silly song that goes something like "a duck horse? you put the from of a duck and the back of a horse.... thats silly." You can also just one piece up and it will still play the animal sound and what the animal is.

There are 25 different combinations. Controlled by thick slots on the back of the pieces ensuring that the computer inside always knows what you've placed on the barn.

My daughter loved this toy. At just 1 year she had figured out how to remove the pieces and needed only a little help putting them back on. She'd hand the ones she wanted on over to me and I'd place them together and then we listen. The pieces are big enough for even small hands and don't fit very well inside the mouth.

For Parents

Along with a on-off switch there is the always important 2 setting volume control. .After a few minutes of inactivity whatever animal is left on after baby has finsihed playing will make its animal sound just as a reminder that the barn is still on.

It requires 3 AAA batteries. Box states not included but ours came with them. I pulled it from its packaging and it was ready to go.

It cleans easily with a damp towel.

This is a great learning tool but a even better distraction from the other happenings in the kitchen while mom or dad is trying to cook or do dishes. Of course it will still work if not attached and placed on the ground. For travel, take it with you in the car. Good for all toddlers reccomended for 12 months+.

I am also very unhappy with this product. We just moved into a new house with new appliances and it scratched our new stainless steel fridge. I am not happy with the service I received from customer service. They are only willing to replace the toy. I would not suggest this product to anyone that has stainless steel appliances.

Do not purchase this toy if you ace a stainless steel appliance! Scratched our refrigerator significantly and leapfrog is only willing to replace toy. Very unhappy with the customer service and the product
