What is MAT?
MAT: Mission Against Terror is a Free To Play Online FPS game. This means that the client is available for download completely free. The game does require free registration to the host website in order to play, and some of the in-game items are only available for cash points(called gold).
Currently the game is under "open beta" and some features are not yet added at the time this review was made.
The game has semi-arcade style gameplay which personally reminds me of CrossFire a bit. Even though it does have factors like recoil, i cannot say that the bullet behavior was made quite realistically. That's not something that makes this game any less fun, though, many players favor games like this one.
There are some interesting functions which i haven't found in many other games of this type. A player can recover own health by doing a "dance" in this game(done by pressing the "V" key)
Mummy – Is a humans VS mummies mode. Everyone starts as being a human, but some randomly selected players turn into Mummies. While humans have all weapons, the mummies can only use their claws. The goal for mummies is to infect all of the humans before the time expires.
Phantom – Is a Phantom VS humans mode. The phantoms are transparent when moving and invisible while standing, with only melee weapons. The goal of the phantoms is to set and detonate a bomb, while the goal of the humans is to stop them and defuse the bomb(if planted).
Bomb – Human VS Human mode where one team's goal is to set and detonate the bomb, while the other's team goal is to stop them and/or defuse the bomb.
Team - Two human teams fighting. The goal is to reach more kills than the other team.
Solo – Everyone VS everyone human fighting mode.
Training – Basic training mode.
Chatroom – A non aggressive chat room in which you can meet new people, discuss subjects with them, and play mini games like boxing against other players.
Weapons and Items
You start off with a few basic weapons including an assault rifle, pistol, grenade, and a bazooka. Through playing the game you earn both experience points which help you gain levels and bonus points known as silver which can be used to buy items and weapons. The game also has gold points which can be purchased by cash and used to buy some stronger items. The shop has a broad range of items which can be bought, and it will be extended in the future.
There are also missions which can be completed, such as: "create new room", "use quick join", etc which give you additional points and items.
Interesting: This is one of very few games of this type(online fps) that you can use fists to fight with, either in a chat room boxing match, a "fists only" match, or you can simply drop your weapons and fight with the bare hands to show your skills.

A relatively new, interesting free to play online FPS game. Certainly worth a try. The graphics may not be the most advanced, but are perfectly decent. Sound effects are as good as in any other game of this genre. Might seem a little difficult to play at first, but you will soon get used to it.
Some of the frequently asked questions i found while reviewing MAT: Mission Against Terror.
Is this game free?
Yes, the game is free to download and play, but some additional items can only be bought with money, please read this article fully for more information.
Why don't some features like clan and invite work?
This game is still new(in beta) and some of the features and game modes are yet to be included, the only thing you can do right now is be patient.
How to change from Team Chat once in-game?
Start typing by pressing "Enter", then press "Tab" and you can change from team chat to other available chats.
How can i check if i have network lag?
Once in-game, press "Tab", it will show you a list with all of the players, look at your name, it should have a number right next to it, if this number is lower than 100(100 ms) that means that you don't lag too considerably, however, if this number is over 150 then you might experience some more serious lag which could cause playing difficulties.
Why do i have lag?
Either you have a bad connection, or you are too far from the game servers.
I don't have network lag, but my PC lags, how can i solve this?
You can solve this by lowering the game details to minimum, decreasing the game resolution, and closing all applications that your PC might be running in the background. If this doesn't help, your computer might be too slow to run this game.
If you have further questions, contact the support on the website you've downloaded the game from.
When i try to Log-in, at the part where my Username and Password is asked, the game says "waiting for the server response" and won't start. What could be the problem?
You can't run the game unless you have Net Framework 3.5 SP1 installed. You can get the framework by clicking here.
