Updated on October 22, 2011

Toys are items that children use as playful objects that entertain, amuse and help them learn. They have been used by everyone since a very long time. Originally they were made of wood or clay and were carved in the shape of animals and figurines.

Today, rattles, teddy bears and dolls have replaced the old wooden toys and are very popular and loved by many children. Even, toys based on important daily items used by adults have become immensely popular, as well. These objects include miniature furniture sets, phones and miniature cars.

Toy versions of the different models of cars manufactured by many major automobile manufacturing companies are available as well. Toy versions of cars makes made by Rolls Royce, Ford Motors, General Motors, Volkswagen, and Toyota too are quite readily available.

Some of these toy cars bear features which resemble the real life models on which they are made.

One example is that a toy replica of a Ford car may have the same type of main frame of vehicle and styling as the actual model. Die-cast car models that resemble the authentic car in many respects can also be acquired quite easily.

Countless small types and models of cars have been reproduced into the shapes and designs of the original vehicles.

The most popular themed sets are those of fire fighters, police, ambulances and cartoon characters such as Bob the Builder.

Some of them may have musical devices which create sounds when they move, however, most of the time it is the child creating the sounds and this results in the child learning about the importance of fire fighters, ambulances and police.

Bob the Builder truck sets may be available for up to $100 from eBay. Bob the Builder is a cartoon from Nickelodeon. Although the show has now ended many children still remember him and his truck set which can provide amusements for hours.

The enjoyment that children get from these toys can be a lot depending on how they play with them, these toys may also be used by older members of the families and can help create a good atmosphere for the children to play in with their family members.
