My Fox News Interview Video

Updated on June 29, 2010

Fox News Interview with Neil Cavuto June 22, 2010

The only thing worse than doing a T.V. interview with zero notice is afterwards watching yourself do the T.V. interview.

Ug...I look much older than I thought I did in "real life". I said, "aaaa" and "ummmm" way too many times and I just overall did a lousy job as I Hubbed/blogged earlier. I didn't bring my real personality as I promised the producer I would because as a seasoned public speaker, i usually can think quicker on my feet without using crutches like "aaaaaa". Oh well... What's done is done! And here are the results for better or worse!

I wanted to say to Mr. Cavuto more forcefully than I did that I believe General McChrystal was backed into a corner and out of frustration felt he HAD to do what he did. However, as I said prior to the interview talking to the producer, regardless, McChrystal had to know full well speaking out like that would probably get him canned.

How ironic that the only decisive solid leadership Mr. Obama has ever shown about anything since he's taken office is fire a war hero. What a thing to put on his list of "accomplishments". I say "accomplishments" with tongue in cheek as I firmly believe the things Mr. Obama has "accomplished" has been deeply destructive to this nation and its citizens.

Another thing I wish to add is - in the "Rolling Stone" interview - {what this whole ordeal is essentially about)--it was reported that McChrystal actually voted for Mr. Obama.

That's a good news, bad news kind of thing. What does this say about the General McChyrstal himself and his judgement? He voted for a man who would be the next Commander in Chief with no experience at anything other than gathering folks together for "civil actions" no less having any military experience.

It's good news for those of us who pray Mr. Obama is a one term President. The POTUS's own hand-picked man, the same man who actually voted for him, thinks he's an incompetent idiot uncomfortable in a room full of American military leadership.  The still further bad news is - the Taliban know this too.

The hope we have is in General Petraus. He's a rock star in every military sense of the word and a brainiac. The defense of our country is in good hands with this General.

We are in deep, deep do-do in this country overall in so many more ways than one. With this current administration we have an utter cluelessness as how to run a small business no less run the United States of America. With this President we have a total lack of leadership on almost every front. And one of the hugest problems is we have a Commander-in-Chief who is utterly incapable and unwilling to step up to the plate and even pretend he knows how to tackle the job.

Only 940 days 2 hours and 29 minutes left of him before he's voted OUTTA THERE! Don't ever stop fighting to get our country back and get Mr. Obama and the rest of his minions voted out of office!! Carry the torch folks!! Keep on Hubbing!

And coming from you Wayne, that means A LOT! I think I am a bit hard on myself as your wife seems to be on herself. Indeed I focus on the negative things I see and hear rather than pick up the positive as I would if it had been someone else! Thank you for your assessment - everyone has been amazingly generous!

Carol...like my wife,Barbara...when you look in the mirror you see every little hair out of place that others don't see. I have seen seasoned veterans of televised interviews step all over themselves. I thought you listen attentively, thought about your answers a bit, and spoke carefully. I thought the tone was good. Afterall, your are the wife of a soldier as well as the mother of one...we military guys would expect you to have some decorum in presenting your thoughts. In some ways I think that producer missed the boat in that the spark that she saw in you came from defending your position not pinning some else down in theirs. I think you were "fair and balance" given credence to the military chain of command and associated traditions as well as speaking up for the skills of General McChrystal. I give you a thumbs up! WB

      Dear Carol,

You were fabulous and obviously you are your own worst critic. I think you spoke beautifully with poise and intelligence. You should be so proud presenting yourself and your views so eloquently. I gee with your take on this whole incident.

Your interview was great! I too have wondered why a top general like McChrystal would allow this behavior in front of a reporter obviously out to get him. I heard he had a chance to stop the damaging remarks from the story before it published and did not stop them. So it does make you wonder why. Was it a sacrifice play to get the ROE changed? If so, it worked because they are going to be changed.

Carol, you are hero mom. Thank you for everything.

I just see many voters were deceived. I would blame them, but, no I will not. We were already punished enough for our mistakes. Now I pray things will turn around. I lived in communism and I did vote my way.

You did an admirable job and even seasoned public speakers get nervous when the topic is as vast as the one being discussed I agree we all simply must do what we can to get this administration out of play for the sake of the greater good of this country.

      Carol,

I think you knocked it out of the park in this interview with Neil. You made every point you needed to and more. You let the people know even an Obama voterer was sick and tired of him now. This is an example for all voters how to get rid of all of his congressional supporters and his agenda.

Thanks so very much TinaMarie - I hope it wasn't as bad as I thought it was - I think sometimes we're always our own worst critic. And thank you too for your graciousness with regards to my son. God willing - he should be on his way home in less than a week. I can't wait to hear from his wife Kristen, "He walked off the plane, he's HOME!"

Sheri - no - it's an honor to in some small way be a representative of Army/Military wives and Moms. It's a very, very humbling experience to be on that machine of "Television". By that I mean the whole experience. I'm very thankful for the experience and hope if I ever get the chance again, I can improve.

Thanks for your comments. You are TOO kind my friend! Love, Carol

Carol~ Thanks for posting your interview! I think you did well, considering the pressure that you must feel when speaking on live television...Just think The Prez..he still says Uh Uh, Um Um, and Ah Ah...with a telepromter telling him what to say! LoL..you did a great job and I would like to thank your son for his service!

You definitely did not look old! Hugs!
